  Superb

Brilliantly brutal, visually spectacular and completely eradicates the memory of Stallone's terrible effort, 3D is absolutely perfect, picture quality and sound are right up there with the best of them, as is the casting and performances all round, the extras on the disc are a bit lame and segments are repeated in the different menus but when a film is this good it just doesn't matter, here's hoping for a deserved sequel...

  Great Film... Terrible Blu-ray awful.

5 stars for the film. awesome.. read someone else's review of the film, this review is for the blu-ray... which I have to say.. is terrible in places. very grainy.. and no I am not talking about the bits through the camera, and psychedelic bits.. certain parts of the film are just plain grainy on normal scenes.. I one point my other half asked me if I bought a copy. Which I clearly did not.. watched 2D and 3D versions.. anyway the film is awesome. shame about the quality.. lots of complaints on forums about blu ray version.. apparently dvd version is better.

Absolute awesome reboot of my fave 2000AD character, non stop action, John Wagner must be very happy with this :) Urban IS Dredd.

On a slightly bitter note I pre ordered this and it took an extra week to arrive!!! not happy

THIS is how to make a DREDD movie!

DREDD is one of the best films of 2012, and goes straight into my Top Five Sci-Fi Movies Ever.

A 2000AD reader in years past, I always enjoyed Dredd, and liked the Stallone movie too. But Karl Urban simply makes a far better Dredd - he has the gravely voice, he keeps the helmet and the scowl on, and the uniform is just great to look at. (The Judge helmets are much more authentic in this film version, which greatly adds to the appeal).

DREDD is a far more contained film than the Stallone version too, which probably tried to do too much. Confining this film to fewer locations really helps viewers to identify with the main characters more, as they are given far more screen time. Mega City One is far more like in the older 2000AD stories, with less flying traffic and the decaying old world buildings being much more evident.

I especially liked Olivia Thirlby, who looks, sounds and acts the part of Cassandra Anderson to perfection. She is a rookie in the film, assigned to Dredd for an assessment day, and like in the comics, she remains for the most part sans helmet, to extend her psychic abilities.

The film justifies its 18 certificate through graphic, bloody violence and expletives: no Drokk! Yelled here. Yet such is the nature of the world this version of Judge Dredd lives in, and this excellent film really does do the comic hero proud!

I know this film was made as the first part of a planned trilogy, and it would be rough justice indeed if parts two and three were never filmed.

Love the film. Disappointed with delivery

The movie itself is awesome. However I am very disappointed with Plays delivery. I preordered this on the 9th. I would expect to get it on the day of release like it usually would be. But no. It is now the 18th and still no movie in the post. They didn't even dispatch it until the 15th, the day after release. Normally I wouldn't complain. But my friend also ordered this after I did and he got his on release day! Very poor.

Great adult action film finally doing justice to the classic UK comic character. Violent, gory and very cool. An instant cult classic. Extras are feeble though...

This film is an all high octane action thrill ride! It doesnt take long to get into the story and it doesbt stop delivering! This film is absolutely amazing to say the least and it has earnt a perfect place with the rest of my movies.

  Fantastic action/sci-fi film! Essential viewing

This film showing a day in the life of Dredd and new female 'rookie' partner is amazing! The film starts off with a brilliant bike and car chase and quickly moves the action to a Mega Tower block full of gang members. Unlike the 'crap' Punisher, Ghost Rider films - the dialogue scenes moves the action along at a great pace. If you like Mad Max 2, Robocop, Blade, Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, the Raid - then you will love this film. Good use of 3D. Please tell your friends to watch this film - otherwise we will never get to see Dredd 2 (set in Cursed Earth) and Dredd 3 (featuring Judge Death and the Dark Judges) !
