Detective Inspector Jack Regan (Ray Winstone) and his loyal partner George Carter (Ben Drew) are old school crime fighters enforcing the law in a modern underworld. Armed and dangerous, the Flying Squad have their own way of operating, and when an old enemy makes a re-appearance on the London crime scene, Regan will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Tearing up the streets of London, The Sweeney is a stylish, exhilarating action thriller directed by Nick Love (The Firm), and boasts a terrific British cast including Damien Lewis (Homeland), Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Steven Mackintosh (Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans).

Please note that this Steelbook is only available for a limited time and while stocks last.

You don't need to be any fan of the series to love this, a good fun Brit action romp, from start to finish they tear up London with cool shootouts and car chases, the story is pretty straight forward and plays out with an electric cast of talent and has director Nick Loves touch on it, certainly worth a watch, its not brilliant but still damn good fun.

Ray Winstone - Sweeney remake exceeds expectations

For those of us who loved both the original series and John Thaw, this film was anticipated with some trepidation. John Thaw WAS Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman WAS Carter. You can't improve on an original - what you can do is match it. That is exactly what Ray Winstone and Ben Drew have done. A superb and thrilling update - totally in keeping with the style and quality of the TV series. I saw this film twice in three days. Would love to see a sequel.

The choice of actors for this was totally wrong Regan and Carter played by a fat old man and a paper boy.......
The shoot out in London was taken from the Heat......
Enough said don't buy this film hire it instead.......

oh yes the sweeney are back and winston plays reegan as the tough talking no nonsense bad boy flying squad officer..
the story focuses on the sweeney hunting a gang of armed robbers which i found to be very intelligent and exciting..
this movie has it all from wise cracking one liners gun fights and car chasers there is a scene which reminded me very much of the movie heat and all who watch will enjoy...those who have seen the original sweeney should enjoy this very much and will find many similarites between the two i wouldnt say winston has nailed the reegan character 100 percent but is a worthy homage..
to all you true fans out there this takes me back to the days when i truly appreciated this country and what it stood for..
we need the flying squad back on our door steps ha..
highly recommened viewing..
