  Best Cop Film For Ages

| | See all Evilpider's reviews (3)

Very good film! Really enjoyed it. Story got deeper and more harrowing as it flicked along. It's shot in a documentary view of two Police officers working in one of the most gang riddled and violent areas of L.A. I won't go into to much and let you see the film for your self. Well worthy in your Blu-ray or DVD collection as I don't let any old film in mine. Enjoy!

This is one of the most realistically shot cop movies ever. The casting of Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena is brilliant, the banter as they patrol the streets of South Central is realistic and very funny. The chemstry between the two is so good that you feel the danger for them as the go about their duty because you genually like the guys. The film is shot in such a manner, part found footage, part documentary style and to some extent epic city scapes that it totally imerses you in their job. Directed by the writer of the excellent Training Day and the very underrrated Dark Blue the film knows it's subject matter well. It's not about story, it's about situations getting out of control and as the film moves along the sense of dread is very evident. The overall impression of the film is that these cops are working in a war zone and living everyday as if it's your last is a way of life. This is compelling stuff and I was gripped from start to finish.
One of the best films of last year.

  Possibly one of the best?!?!

Was a bit sceptical about buying this due to not seeing many reviews, and the fact that it looks more like a documentary. But as soon as the intro was done I realised I'd bought a class film, a must buy for your blu ray collection.

  VERY IMPRESSED...

was good to see something a little different from the norm..
basically if feels like your watching the L.A.P.D at work day in day out and the movie focuses on two patrol men as they deal with some serious scummy people..its filmed like a movie and documentary..there are alot of shocking and gruesome momments in this movie and i have to say this is one job i would not like to do..
all in all i have to say this is one of the better movies of 2012 and will be buying on bluray..
if you like a rollercoster ride with a few shocks i recommend highly...
p.s.the shoot out scenes are very realistic..

  Amazing!

Film is amazing, with the camera angles and the type of filming used it really doesn't feel like a movie, but more that you're actually there and seeing the real dark side of LAPD. I loved this film at the cinema and can't wait for the blu-ray to be released!

Not the most original story but well directed and superbly cast. Great filming locations and frantic action. Worth a look!
