A powerful story based on one family's survival of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, The Impossible stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and is directed by J.A. Bayona (THE ORPHANAGE).

Based on a true story, The Impossible is the unforgettable account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time. But the true-life terror is tempered by the unexpected displays of compassion, courage and simple kindness that Maria (Naomi Watts) and her family encounter during the darkest hours of their lives. Both epic and intimate, devastating and uplifting, The Impossible is a journey to the core of the human heart.

Top 100 Music Reviewer

The fact this movie's theme is the utter devastation the Tsunami brought years ago, this move is a real tour de force about the human spirit ande endeavour. The initial disaster scene is simply horrific and puts you right into the terror of what people must have experienced. Having seen it in the cinema, it felt almost claustrophopic.. Strong character performances from Watts and McGregor, but the film is tolen by the kids who you root for throughout the film. Highly recommended

Superb acting. Horrific subject. Very well put together. Just two points: it obviously is possible as it really happened and the beginning is great but it dwindles towards the end.

superb film, really moving and heartbreaking

This film was superb. How the other reviewer can say it dwindled towards the end is beyond me! This is a true story and people's lives were devastated and it no way dwindled it bought such devastation into reality when watching it, from start to finish and I could not stop crying. The effects and acting was out of this world. Makes u realise how lucky we are!

 Be warned...
