This is the best movie I have seen in a long time.
I loved the religious elements, and the deep thinking bits.
The 3D is stunning, and if you have a 3D TV then you must buy this!

OK Film but Brilliant 3D Film.

I didnt really listen to the hype or know too much about this film apart from he ends up shipwrecked with a tiger.. I didnt really know what to expect but I must say the story and acting are top draw and despite 3 quarters of this film being just a boy and a tiger it really does captivate you and draw you in. I wasnt really that impressed with the ending and it isnt up there with my favorate films of all time but it is well worth a watch and is especially good in 3D.

I never saw this in the cinema in all it's 3D glory, this is now regrettable, but on retail release I took the risk and purchased it without previously watching it before hand. The first half hour I was wondering what all the fuss was about with all it's religious rambling back story, but as soon as the film sets sail I was treated to a simple story that was so well told. The stranding of Pi and the Bengal Tiger on the lifeboat as at first enemies then teaming to survive the elements and have a mutual respect is so well done. It's not Doctor Doolittle as the Tiger could at any time turn on Pi and have him for lunch, but it's this balance that makes the two stars such a delight to watch. The visuals far exceed anything Avatar did as the ocean is alive with colour and life. I was captivated and by the end wanted the two to become friends, but the film is smart enough to fall into a over sentamental cop out and leaves you guessing if this was all a figment of Pi's imagination to cope with the trauma of being lost at sea. It's outstandingly directed by Ang Lee, brilliantly acted by a unknown and jaw dropping in it's beauty. By the end of the film you kind of understand what the tedious first half hour was about. Life of Pi has to be seen in 3D on the biggest screen possible.
