As we know this is as close to facts as possible of how the hunt for the worlds most wanted man ended. In Binladen's case not very well. Director Kathryn Bigelow leaves no stone unturned of how the CIA and other intelligence groups gathered as much data to zone onto their target. The film is set into three parts. The first is quite uncomfortable viewing as intelligence is extracted via any means possible. The second is following the leads and meeting a lot of dead ends, the final thirty minutes is the raid. The raid is some of the most knuckle chewing bits of film making I have seen in years, as the operation almost failed and the fall-out could have started a war. We know how it ends, but how it is executed is very well done, no patriotic flag waving, Binladen's death is done in an uncompromising matter of fact fashion not giving rise to fanatical death calls. This is a hot potato subject and the film has the common sense not to choose sides. The target was killed and lessons on who to trust in the future must be learnt. the simple fact is trust no one!Although released at the start of 2013 Zero Dark Thirty has to be a strong contender for one of the best films of the year, even though it didn't get the oscar ( probably due to the subject matter ) It's not an action film, and the attention to deatail my be exausting to some, but stick with it, as this is a film you'll be talking about long after the end credits have rolled.See If You Like......Argo.Black Hawk Down.Body Of Lies. The Kingdom.Munich.Hurtlocker.The Greenzone.
