4 Improvement over the older DVD releaseLynnBrittain | 27/08/2013 | See all LynnBrittain's reviews (1)Firstly I understand the original universal studio's master print was destroyed in a fire some time ago. I own the universal studio's hammer region 1 box set, which is a very good print, and in wide screen format. The previous UK print was only in 4.3 cropped format and not as good as the universal print. Saying that the source print used is unknown. The blue ray shows a lot of grain, and I suspect that this version may have been digitally upscalled. comparing the older DVD and this new Blu ray. Still it is an improvement with more detail and rich colours, and is in wide screen 16.9.The extra's included on the disk include interviews with the leading lady, and production staff, and gives new insights into the making of the film. I wish that final cut had gone to the trouble of providing a commentary with the film. If you are a Hammer films fan than this Blu Ray is a welcome addition.
