Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook - includes emboss and gloss on both title treatment and sunglasses. This product is limited to 4000 copies. Winner of the prestigious Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival (1976) and nominated for 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture (1976), Taxi Drive stars Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese's classic film of a psychotic New York cabby driven to violence by loneliness and desperation. Co-starring Jodie Foster, Albert Brooks, Harvey Keitel, Peter Boyle and Cybill Shepherd, the film is presented on Blu-ray for the first time following an extensive 4K digital restoration and remastering under the guidance of cinematographer Michael Chapman and director Martin Scorsese.

Wow. This is exactly how older movies should be transferred.

The movie itself is sublime fully centered around De Niro's quite faultless performance. All cast members actually excell in this production but so much rests on De Niro and he is truely superb in this.

The transfer itself is absolutely fantastic. Lovely filmic grain which is never obtrusive and show's that this classic has not fallen into the DNR realm of Patton or Predator. The detail and sharpeness as a result is amazing. You can even detect the grime on the surface of the cab. This movie is set in the seedy world of manhatton and as a result is never going to br full of vibrant colours however the taxi is vibrant and wonderful against the cities landscape. This is a truely magnificent example of how a movie made in the seventees should look on a modern HD conversion.

This is an accurate transfer which keeps the integity of the original source material and looks every bit as good as it would of looked when initially released in theatres over 30 years ago.

Truely wonderful.
