When a group of heavily armed and meticulously trained extremists launch a daring daylight ambush on the White House, the President (Aaron Eckhart, The Dark Knight) and his staff are taken hostage inside an impenetrable underground bunker.

But as the Oval office and its environs sustain an aerial and ground attack, a disgraced former U.S. Secret Service agent, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler,300), finds his way into the besieged building to do the job he has trained for all his life: to protect the president - at all costs.

With tension rising, the Acting President (Morgan Freeman, The Dark Knight Rises) and US national security team must rely on Banning to rescue the President before the terrorists can unleash their ultimate, terrifying plan.

From visionary director, Antoine Fuqua (Training Day),Olympus Has Fallen is an electrifying, and inspired action thriller that will keep your heart pounding from start to finish!

 Amazing

What a fantastic film. A cross between Under Siege and Die Hard. Great performances from all. A great set design of the White House and exterior. Very action packed as you would expect from a film like this especially the sequence of the White House being infiltrated about 15-20 mins long and very clever. Good fight scenes. A must buy for any action fan.

Good Film but not quite Original

Cinematography and Sound effects are good, not too loud to overrun the dialogue. But the Film/Movie is not an Original plot, the whole sequence was taken from "Underseige" of Steven Seagal in the 90's; The action caliber were clearly of Bruce Willi's "Diehard series". Same Conflict, Different Theatre, not much twist. Overall a good film for its budget. I'll watch it again in my free time or on quite Sundays just to listen to the surround combat effects
