Review

When five American students arrive in Ireland to go on a camping trip with their old friend Jake, they are in high spirits. jake has promised them the 'trip of a lifetime' because he claims Ireland has the best magic mushrooms in the world!

But now that they are tripping, things just don't seem so funny. Bluto is missing and Tara thinks he's dead. As their paranoia grows so does the fear of something out there... something is watching them...

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Good film, unless your expecting "The Godfather"...

If you set your expectations accordingly there's a lot of fun to be had from Shrooms. Sure, we've seen it all before but I thought it was a unique approach to a cliche riden genre. To the reviewer below who complained about film grain, it's normal! This is one of the most common complaints by the average Joe who doesn't fully understand AV issues. Film grain is an inherent part of shooting on film. HD just shows it up more since there's more resolution. Some studio's have employed DNR (digital noise reduction) to remove the grain and please Joe Public, but then AV enthusiasts complain that this also reduces the fine detail. I was pleased with the transfer on this disc. All the lovely film grain was intact, and therefore so was the detail. There are better looking Blu Rays out there, but there are no "faults" on this disc in relation to grain.

This is not a great horror movie but i think it deserves to be called a good one. The acting and horror scenes are average and the end twist average aswell but this is still an entertaining movie to watch for a reason that i can't think of, it just is. 3 stars from me.
