Review

A classic Disney animated fairy tale meets with the modern, live-action romantic comedy in Walt Disney Pictures' Enchanted.

Featuring an all-star cast, the film follows the beautiful princess Giselle (Amy Adams) as she is banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from her magical, musical animated land and finds herself in the gritty reality of the streets of modern-day Manhattan. Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn't operate on a "happily ever after" basis, Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment. But when Giselle begins to fall in love with a charmingly flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who has come to her aid, even though she is already promised to a perfect fairy tale prince (James Marsden) back home, she has to wonder: can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

The name of the film says it all. After seeing it I can't stop singing the songs and wearing a big smile as I think about them.

This has to be one of the best musical films i've seen for some time, very well cast with some unforgetable moments that will stay with you happily ever after.

a fairy-tale romance comes to planet-earth, a jealous 'groom's'
mother, who just so happens to be a 'witch' sends her 'son's' ( prince ) intended to modern day 'new york'
this transfer's animation into reality ?
plenty of silly humour, enough to at least keep the 'kid's' amused.
i drifted away from my policy to buy 'action/or probable great blu-ray'
transfer's because at the time the difference in price between this and 'dvd' wasn't worth worrying about.
if this trend continues i'll of course buy 'blu-ray' every-time, picture and sound quality is of course superior.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Great fun for all the family

I echo other reviews here. I really didn;t want to watch this, but got forced to see it at the cinema. I loved it so much I bought the Bluray, and this is just pure 'magic'. There are all sorts of references to previous Disney films, and when the leap is made from animation to real world acting, it is wonderful. The picture quality on bluray is once again top drawer (as you would expect from Disney). The performances are excellent, and there are plenty of musical numbers for the kids. Special mention has to go to the lead actress Amy Adams, who pulls off the role as Giselle with ease. She is wonderful in the role, as is the witch played by Susan Sarandon. Excellent bluray and excellent film
