When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenceless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific rim is a great all round action film, great looking, fun to watch and a really good worth a watch film. Don't listen to the miserable people who say its a poor film etc. sit back and enjoy.

 Bad bad movie!!!

Total rubbish! Ideal for those simpletons who are dazzled by effects and don't care about acting, dialogue and story!!! Awful Australian accent by Sean Slater from Eastenders.

A terrible film all round but the effects are superb!

Fantastic film!! Best movie I've seen in 2013

Even though the story was pretty straight forward it does little to diminish what was an overall great blockbuster movie. The action and visuals were amazing. The cast did a solid job of carrying this movie. If you're looking for a complex action movie full of twists then you'll most likely not like this film. But if you're happy to sit and watch a straight forward story with some of the best action scenes, and visuals since transformers then this is the movie for you.

 Simply Amazing

The movie is an all full action pack movie with stunning effects. Some people are complaining about the acting but they fail to understand that this is an action movie and fans are watching it for the graphics and the effects.
Overall a good movie thats worth a 2nd and 3rd watch especially if you are with friends.

I found this film to be a pretty good watch, purely on the basis of the effects and visuals. Some of the effects are absolutely mind blowing and its got a not too bad story in all honesty.
Ive seen alot lot worse.
However I did find myself cringing at times at the acting and although the film isnt really based on that it would certianly of helped.
I didnt find myself cheering on the humans in the end but actually hoping that they failed and everybody died. The acting is that bad at times and the rally speach near the end like the presidents speach in independence day is so american and although they might go yeah wooo, hell yeah, i most certainly didnt.
However, all in all its a really good film for the effects at least and well worth banging on even if just once.
I wish I watched this at age 15, Id of loved it. 5 stars, for sure!
Now, im afraid ill just give it 3.
