As a sci-fi cinema buff I found the picture, sound acceptable though a bit too dark visually to see clearly, continuity for the film is frustrating as it doesn't follow the rules properly for either 'Alien' or 'Predator'. A new Alien breeding cycle is introduced without authorisation for the first time after 5 Alien movies. Also the Predators activating their self destruct when cornered is not done in two of the scenes. The image of the APC from the 2nd film 'Aliens' is stolen with the use of a modern LAV Striker APC driving through Gunnison during a blackout and in the rain!

Overall the AVPR sucks the Alien-Franchise dry and that goes with along the ideas for the movie, the 'Predalien hybrid' as named by first time movie directers the Strauss Bros… more »

'Alien3' did show that aliens take half their biology from their host. 'Alien4' the aliens break their biological rules of breading as they use Genetically Modified aliens because Ripley had technically killed all the Aliens in her previous three movies and were technically instinct, hence GM aliens in No.4!

Dark Horse Comics introduced the 'Alien vs. Predator' graphic novels, which I enjoyed was an idea that was influenced by a joking scene in 'Predator 2', as Danny Glover enters the Predator ship and finds loads of trophy heads, an alien head is included.

AVP 2004 did introduce the 2 minute Alien incubation time compared to the previous 2 day incubation time, this is predictably carried on in AVPR. Hand guns that couldn't kill aliens in 'Aliens', now even work in AVPR. If the AVP/AVPR had been set in the distant future as the graphic novels had penned then we would have a much better story continuity and more of a sequel rather than prequels that miss the point just to make a fast buck and cheap thrills, AVPR cost less than $50 million, mainly from using rubber/latex suited aliens, very little CGI was used only on the alien tails and Predalien head movements. Final saving was using unknown B list actors, recognized a lady from the series 24, who was murdered 2 seasons back !!
Even though it is the critically the worst performing 'Alien' movie to date, it still generated about $150 million profit worldwide excluding DVD sales. Another sequel is bound to rear its ugly Alien Head, hopefully will put this dried up franchise to rest!
