Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem (A sonic masterpiece)

This film had a good story and introduced a new environment for the creatures to create havoc. The action comes hard and fast and is a joy to watch, as each creature or character in the film is cleanly disposed of. The sound quality (dts-hd) draws you into the film and drives all the speakers hard. The picture quality was sharp and clear, but was very dark and difficult to capture all the action in certain scenes. I would recommend this film for SC-Fi action fans, but watch it in a darken room for full effect.
Review of the blu-ray version...

Im a huge predator fan and the AVP films are pretty good - not as good as fans of both genres would expect, but none the less pretty good. I really liked this film hence why i bought it on blu-ray. The picture and sound are amazing, i enjoyed this more at home than at the cinema! The extras are great on this version and well worth a look, including an A-Z of both Yaujta and Xenomorph - including images and 3d illustrations!!! This Blu-ray version is well worth it.
this film is'nt out of this world but you can only hope

there is action but you can't see a thing, your not sure if an alien just bit a persons head off or vice versa, the character depth is deeper than the first avp, but you still don't care if they live or die, this movie is one big sci-fi flop. nuff said.
it's not that bad

watched this film last night and to be honest the action is very good and yes the story could have been tweaked abit more but if you like action/sci-fi it's worth buying i give it a 8 out of 10 also the copy i rented from my store gave me the on option of extended or original version
Nice start, poor ending

I have realy looked forward to this movie as a big fan of Alien films. And now AVP. All the background sounds are there ie jungle drums and clacking noise from the predator as with the original predator film, and the Alien / Pred look very good in the dark setting.
The ending of the film is a very big let down for me, the big showdown between the Predator / pred / alien builds to a great battle with a very big let down.
Not worth buying in blu-ray as the film is so very very dark .
Could be better

I'm giving this 3 stars as i think the movie could have been a lot better. It is good but it's very dark even with the brightness on the tv turned up, the fight scenes would have been a whole lot better if you could see what is going on. But apart from that it is a good film, if you're a fan of the alien and predator films then you should buy it. Maybe save a bit of your money and just get it on DVD not Bluray
Fantastic

As with all Alien and Predator films, this has been geared towards hardcore fans, but still has an easy-to-pick-up story line and quickly gets into the action, which comes thick and fast when the Predator arrives on earth. Obviously carrying a 15 certificate, this one has plenty of blood 'n guts and doesn't shy away from both of the originals horror aspects. A must for long-time fans and a good buy for newcomers to the series. The BluRay transfer is fantastic if you have a half decent HDTV with a good contrast ratio, special effects especially. Nothing looks better than a cloaked Predator in 1080P, trust me on this.
Enjoyable

Now then..I grew up on the original Alien and Predetor films..and although these two AVP franchise films are not linked to the originals, I think they could have done better.
Lets get something straight, they are not bad. In fact they are very enjoyable. With Requiem being a slightly better offering.
The only real gripes I have personally on this and the first one are the time line with when an Alien is "Born".
We all know that it takes longer for this to happen that what is percieved in the film. I know there may well have been time constrainst on the length of the movie and all that. But for heavens sake, if your going to make a film as sought after as these then get it right.
The Strauss brothers are big fans of both movies so i am suprised at this.
Anyway, as i said, overall i did enjoy it, all be it in the dark as in my opinion even after turning the brightness up on the tele it was way too dark with a lot of the fight scenes, sewers and the like scuppered by this.
Switch off your brains, chill out and watch a decent monster mash. Heres hoping that James Cameron delivers on Alien 5 (with or without sigirney weaver)
Better than i expected

I think the people who gave this film poor reviews on movies sites sorta missed the point. It has all the classic elements of the original Predator and Alien movies...group of people who get picked off...plus this is so gory and therefore is much superior to the first film in the series. Will be waiting for the extended version though.
