Helvetica is the feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface, which celebrated its 50th birthday in 2007, as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. Helvetica encompasses the worlds of design, advertising, psychology, and communication, and invites us to take a second look at the thousands of words we see every day. Helvetica was filmed entirely in high definition.
Blu-ray is the best way to experience the acclaimed documentary that has surprised and delighted so many fans around the world. Since its world premiere at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival, the film has been shown at festivals, theatres, museums and special events in over 200 cities, and continues to screen worldwide.

Watched the documentary a few months ago on the broadcast on the TV. Fantastic documentary, well shot and had some great designers. Facinating look into the overall of graphic design as a concept, stemming from the world of Helvetica.
It would suprise many, though not to designers, how much of a Helvetica designed world we live in.
On the strength of the content alone, I give this 5 stars. Get this and you won't be dissapointed. First year graphics student at Uni? You must watch this...
