Great films and all that (love the score) but can someone explain why the box set is over 20 pounds more expensive than buying the films seperately (at the time of writing this 58 v 36)?!?

  Outstanding

One of the best trilogies ever made .....by disney.

CotBP gets you hooked from the start with the Johnny depps witty performance of the notorious Cptn Jack sparrow, the memorable soundtrack which you will be humming to yourself for atleast a few weeks and finally the setpieces for every fight sequence, which the music goes along to quite perfectly.

For DmC everything gets turned up a notch, Johnny depp still stands out from the rest of the stars but with the addition of Bill nighy as Davey jones the 1/2 crab, 1/2 octopus collector of souls, more effects are used in this outing but it's still just as good as the 1st one but in my opinion it's the best of the 3.

Unfortunately AwE couldnt live up to its predecessors mainly because it can't keep you entertained enough sit through its 2hr40mins running time, as you would expect the acting, set pieces and cgi are top notch but the plot will probably keep confusing you with its many twists and turns (davey jones' locker really messed with my head a bit along with the calypso arc) but they are little nit picks and they shouldnt stop buying this trilogy which should be a part of any dvd/blu ray collection.

1.Dead man's chest
2.Curse of the black pearl
3.At world's end

  Any Extras on blu-ray

Saw the film but not as Blu ray

This more of a question
Blu ray disc of PotC does that have the same amount of extra as its DVD special edition counter part

I just simply wanted to avoid the dreaded double disc syndrome

Probably the best pirate movies out there. Even Better on Blu-ray!!

To plankrider....ur review is unfair. Because Will Farell didnt star in this movie ( yeah i see hes you`r fav actor) doesnt mean its bad. Talking nonsense about Johnny Depp, when most critics loved his performance in this movie, he created the PoTC movies with his acting. And you advertise for an batman movie? proves how lame ur review is, and the fact that u made me review this movie just to write all this.

  Great Picture quality with Blu-Ray

Good trilogy, ok the first on is by far the better of the three films but the other two are good none the less and now on Blu Ray the picture and sound is much better. It's great that the price has come down but I feel it will come down some more as the Matrix was released at £30 for 3 films but I suppose as it's Disney it might not drop for a while.

Worth owning just for Johnny Depps character!
Marked down because the sound is only in 5.1 and not DTS

You are, without a doubt, the worst pirate I have ever heard of.

The opening minutes of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl play out almost like one would expect from a film that is a serious, unforgiving, bathed-in-harrowing-realism period film. It sets a foreboding tone, but by the time the credits roll, the film has transformed itself, quite effortlessly, into what is to be the thematic basis for the series: that of a high seas adventure replete with plenty of action and drama, but with a serious sense of humor tossed in, a nearly perfect amalgamation of cinematic gold resulting in one of the most lucrative movie franchises of all time. Unfortunately, the two sequels fail to live up to the lofty standards established by Curse of the Black Pearl. Overly long and complex, introducing new and less interesting characters, featuring acting that becomes stiffer and far less organic, and a script that just tries too hard, the series is ultimately a disappointment. Make no mistake about it, however, each film is an entertaining watch with a treasure trove of special effects and grandiose action sequences.

  First one excellent..

The first movie is excellent I enjoyed it but after that it was juiced and pounded by Disney to get as much cash as possible out of it. The 2nd one was dribble it went on and on and the conclusion was ultimately a great disapointment and the 3rd one was a bore.

The only good thing about the sequals is the excellent special effects and some decent acting though Jhonny Depp is a novelty his performance is funny and excellent at first but then the comedy just gets old and boring.

Buy THE DARK KNIGHT instead excellent film for 2008.
