This is a good filler while I am waiting for the new movie to come out. Very distinctly different animation styles on all the short stories whilst still keeping the Dark Knight feel of the Batman. Only criticisms are that the stories are all maybe a little too short, and secondly you don't get that much from the Blu-Ray as it's all very Dark, for me Blu-Ray stands out on really bright movies. Saying that, you can go wrong at this price.
after watching this twice in the last two nights it is clear that this is a master piece. there are many short films such as the animatrix, each giving a new art and story dircteion with every director. The idea for the first story is very original and the way that in one short the Batman was more egal shaped was interesting. I recomend watching this and for the price i will deffo buy it. Can't review the graphics seeing as i only saw this on my computer. However in 1080p, things can only get better.
As my first blu ray, I have to say I'm very impressed...Starters: The packaging is nice, the basic blu ray box with a cardboard cover containing a little character guide booklet. The disk includes: Have I got a story for you (4 kids different views on what batman is) Crossfire(Russian gangmembers vs Italian mobsters) Field Test(Story showing how batman never puts other peoples lives in danger)In Darkness Dwells(Featuring Killer Croc and The Scarecrow) Working Through Pain(Flashbacks of Bruce life before batman)Deadshot(batman vs the assassin Deadshot) Speical features include Commentary, documentaries, interviews, wonderwoman sneak peek and 4 batman: the animated series episodes (Legends of the Dark Knight, Heart of Ice, Over the Edge and I am the Night) Batman is voiced by Kevin Conroy in all of them and sounds great...and at £12.99 you cannot go wrong. Languages are English, German and Spanish if it helps.
This is a really good buy if you are a Batman fan. It is a collection of short animated films which fill in parts between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Its exactly the same idea as The Animatrix.
I bought this clearly for the hype of The Dark Knight and the price is a steal. I highly recommend 5 stars.
I have been so hyped for this all year, i was like a Batman cartoon in blu-ray wooo so then i was watching it and I noticed this is not Batman this is a Japanese cartoon, it just does not seem like Batman but the Extras are what you buy it for. You have about 2 hours in total of interviews with the DC cast which gives you a 2 minute talk about every gotham villan and the best bit about this Blu-ray is you get 4 of the original animated batman episodes!!
overall if you are a die hard Batman fan go out and buy it, however if not, don't bother with this one....
