He never fought a battle he couldn't win: except the conflict raging within his own soul. Academy Award winner Sylvester Stallone stars as war hero John Rambo. An ex-Green Beret haunted by memories of Vietnam, he was once the perfect killing machine. Now he's searching for peace, but finds instead an over-zealous, small-town sheriff who's spoiling for a fight. All hell breaks loose when an unjustly imprisoned Rambo escapes and becomes the target of a massive manhunt. Now he must use his cunning, combat skills, and weapons training to stay alive and outwit his pursuers. Co-starring Brian Dennehy and Richard Crenna, First Blood is an explosive action-thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final, powerful frame.

 Brilliant Film Poor Transfer

I must have been watching a different film as the quality of the film was DVD standard and not blu ray. A brilliant film but stick to DVD unless you have money to throw away.

 Great movie in many Languages.

This is the best of them all. Play have only writen english as languages, but its also has menu and subs in. Australian - brasilian - denmark - deutschland - espanã - france - mexico - nederland - norge - suomi - sverige and united kingdom. Buy this great movie on blu-ray!!!

The first is still the best!

Being a rambo movie fan i do have a biased view but this film is still great over 25 years after release. If you only get one rambo film make it this one, based on david morrells brilliant book, stallone made several changes to the story as he points out on the (short) interview on the disc but for the better. The high definition picture really brings out the background of the rocky mountains and wilderness that the film is set in. There are occasional glitches and blurs but for an old film i think it holds up pretty well, and a bargain at this price!

 Amazing picture

The best one in terms Acting and actual Impact and Story.
Easily one of Stallone's BEST performances along with Rocky and Copland.
