Basic Instinct: Special Edition (Blu-ray)

If you haven't seen this before, or already got it on std dvd, then it would be worth the money.

If not, don't buy expecting a great bluray transfer, as the picture is quite dull and not the vibrant colours i would have expected. Still, a good film!

This has to be one of the most famous movies ever made, a real cult classic thriller that is extremely violent and extremely sexy!! Sharon had her career set in stone after this role, she plays her character with so much style she is an intelligent smooth operating manipulator who cleverly twists everyone around her finger. Paul verhoeven is infamous for his violence as in Robocop and Total recall, this movie has plenty and you cant beat the brutally classic open sequence, it has to be one of the most classic movie scenes ever filmed. Sharon Stone bares plenty of flesh too in this movie and there is plenty of sex, it all builds up to a great finale!! Fantastic movie, a must own, make sure you see this.

I've just watched this on blu-ray on my ps3 on a 50" plasma tv. In my opinion it was well worth the upgrade. Outside images look crisp and clear while indoors is clear and certainly of better quality than the dvd. The image had no grain or blur. Well worth the price!

I would have to disagree with the first reviewer. This BR transfer is really really good, there is no comparison to the standard DVD release so an absolute must have in any collection. The movie itself is a classic 80's and it's all about sex, mistery and murder...BUY!

I am not going to review the movie, I would of thought most interested to know would have seen it. The quality of the Blu Ray picture and sound is pretty good for a 20 year old movie, I give the 4 star just on that alone!
