For a blue ray disc picture quality is so poor throughout the film , no effort has been made , this should not be sold as hd 1080p !!! Not worth the money.story poor.
StarGate Continuum Brilliant. POOR Blu-ray.

To all StarGate fans you will love this film, The story line is great the special fx are great Its stargate so what do you expect from the best sci fi series ever made. All the regulars are there plus a special appearance by Richard Dean Anderson so what more could you ask for. ITS BRILLIANT. So you may ask why 4 stars and this is why.
To all Blu-ray owners if its quality you want there are better examples out there. I can only run at 1080i maybe that might be the problem, However I have Blade Runner and that looks stunning and thats 25 years old. Stargate is Grainy and old before its time, The episodes look better. I know picture quality is not everything but when you spend £17.99 and suposed to be getting a superior product that is what you should get.
BUY THE DVD VERSION SAVE £5. I know i will be more carefull what Blu-ray ill buy in the future.
Its gets 5 cos im biased and I love SG!

I watched this on Sky so I cant speak for the blu-ray quality, but as for the film itself...
....if your a stargate fan you will love it, if you're not you might be a bit lost with it. This is one for the fans!!!
Visual effects are great, the charisma amoungst the characters is great, the acting is actually very good too. I was a bit worried knowing they were doing a "time travel" story AGAIN, but this one has actually been handled really well.
It makes sense for one thing, if not leaving a few loose ends still!
My only issues are that the action doesnt really kick off until quite a way into it, and we're robbed of any real confrontation between Bal and SG1.
The only real BIG issue I have is that its great to see earth being attacked from a distance... but where were the shots of cities blowing up around the world like London, Washington, Paris and alike?
All we saw were ships firing down on the surface and some very long distance impact shots... not close ups of buildings going boom or people running scared on the streets?
Oh and WHY, WHY WHY use stock footage in a higher budget SG1 film? They are capable of doing some amazing effects, and yet they mix them with stock footage which doesnt mix well together!
Why???
Interesting.

Considering the release for this in the UK is 18/08/08 i am surprised to see reviews out, and it only just came out in US so people are obviously talking about a pre-release leak.. tut tut.
Looking at the trailers and looking at potential spoilers on gateworld this looks to be a very promising title, compared to Ark of Truth this will deffinatly be the better title. Will be getting this on Blu-Ray for sure!
Stargate fans will love it!

Top 10 DVD Reviewer
Production is excellent, story is great; it's far more believable than previous "alternate timeline" episodes. The sets are fantastic, most of the effects totally up to par. This is without doubt one of the best "double episodes" that the Stargate team have ever produced. The film does not have the edge of your seat tension that some double episodes had, and the ending is a little bit of an anti-climax, and this will no doubt get the action addicts complaining, but the majority of Stargate fans will love it.
If I have a minor complaint, it is that there are loads and loads of great actors from the series appearing in the film, but I would have liked to have seen some playing much larger parts. Jack, for example, just doesn't spend enough time on the screen for me.
Good end

Obviously not seen the blu-ray version but the one I have seen was fantastic. Some great special effects, and nice to see some characters from way back making an appearance to. If you like Stargate, and like me you will have watched all the episodes of every season then this will finish it off perfectly. Will be buying on Blu-ray soon.
