James Bond's mission begins with a spectacular high-speed hovercraft chase through a minefield in the demilitarized zone separating North and South Korea - and the action doesn't let up until the credits roll. From Hong Kong to Cuba to London, Bond circles the world in his quest to unmask a traitor and prevent a war of catastrophic proportions. On his way he crosses paths with Jinx (Oscar ®-winner Halle Berry) and Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike), who will play vital roles in his latest adventure. Hot on the trail of deadly megalomaniac Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) and his ruthless right-hand man Zao (Rick Yune), Bond travels to Iceland into the villain's lair: a palace built entirely of ice. There he experiences firsthand the power of a new hi-tech weapon. Ultimately it all leads to an explosive confrontation - and an unforgettable conclusion - back in Korea where it all started.

Bond 20 is an extravagant and very entertaining action movie - the first of the series to largely embrace some rather ropey CGI special effects - with Bond tracking down a renegade North Korean colonel. Throw in a DNA altering subplot, and of course the usual proliferation of great stunts and sets (the ice palace is a marvel), and we find a franchise in remarkably good form after 40 years, invisible car notwithstanding.

A pristine Blu-ray transfer too.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Disappointing Storyline but BRILLIANT MOVIE!

The story line of this film (giant space laser) was stupid. They shouldn't have gone anywhere near a story line like that. The 'invisible car' rubbish was silly aswell. Oh, and the fact that when he drives through the ice wall, its blatant that he lands on a big bit of snow, but with a change of angle, :O its gone! But after all that negativity, it was a VERY well made movie and Brosnan is very nearly at his best! Halle Berry makes a great Bond girl and Bond's gadgets (with the exception of his invisible car!) were very entertaining. Definitely worth buying!! And I'd recommend Blu-Ray over DVD too.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars An unfortunate end to Brosnan's legacy

After the terrific Goldeneye Brosnan's films started to decline in quality, but they were always enjoyable until Die Another Day. From the inappropriate choice of theme song to the invisible car, giant space laser, bone marrow transplant for alteration of physical appearances and ice palace this is a film that forgets the golden rule of Bond, allow the audience to suspend their disbelief so that the audience can happily enjoy the ride.
We do however have one thing to thank die another day for, its blunders brought about the very welcome restart with Casino Royale.
