A battle of gigantic proportions is looming in the neon underground of New York City. The armies of the night number 100,000; they outnumber the police 5 to 1; and tonight they're after the Warriors - a street gang unfairly blamed for a rival gang leader's death.
This contemporary action-adventure story takes place at night, underground, in the sub-culture of gang warfare that rages from Coney Island to Manhattan to the Bronx. Members of the Warriors fight for their lives, seek to survive in the urban jungle and learn the meaning of loyalty.

The Warriors is a fun, but dated romp through the mean streets of New York. It becomes obvious by watching, that the director admits he never intended to make a realistic film-the whole thing is structured like a videogame as our heroes fight their way through the different "levels" of the hostile city neighbourhoods. Despite it`s rating, what violence is on show is pretty wimpish & cartoonish by modern standards mainly because "The Warriors" are constantly running away. Even so, it`s fast paced & boasts an amazingly sharp image with virtually zero grain on display. All of the extras from the recent DVD release are included in a good package, although the audio is a bit limp wristed in places. If you ignore the ridiculous clothes, cringeworthy dialogue & the straight faced insanity of it all, The Warriors is a bona fide cheesy classic. It`s super fast, no questions asked Saturday Night with a beer in the hand entertainment. Good stuff.
Walter Hill's classic is given a new lease of life on Blu-ray. The remastering work on this 1080p transfer is near faultless, and is up there with the best picture quality Blu-rays such as Zulu and The Thing.
It's always good to see old classics restored with such attention to detail, and not merely a direct upscaled 1080p transfer without cleaning up the original master.
T2 and Escape From New York please take note!
This Blu Ray transfer of one of my fav films ever is amazing.
For a 29 year old movie to look so good is a cool thing.
When you compare newer films (Robocop being one) that look pretty rubbish on blu ray, its cool to see that sometimes it can be done right for the the older flicks.
A great film and a must buy - I can dig it lol
Saw this film about 8 years ago on BBC2 and was hooked
Has to be in my top 20 movies, just such a great film.
Plenty of fancy dress options in this as well, The Baseball furies !!
This is an amazing film and should be watched in HD. It looks great and sounds great. I would deffinately pick this up.
