Beetlejuice: 20th Anniversary (Blu-ray)

Beetlejuice is one of my favorite 80's films. Easily 5 stars for the film, but I'm not too impressed with the transfer. Although it's an improvement over the DVD, the skin colours are soft and over saturated and grain is visible throughout. Even though the film is 20 years old, I was expecting a little better.

If you don't own the DVD, it's worth buying. Especially if you get the US deluxe version which is region free and comes with a bonus CD, booklet and hologram cover.

I love this film and have been waiting ages for the proper presentation it deserved.
I have it on dvd but it is one of the old dvds that was two-sided which does this film no justice.

Im so happy to now have it on bluray, it looks and sounds fantastic.
I love Tim Burton movies and this is probably my favorite one.
Anyone who likes this film should definatley buy the bluray version, it really is brilliant.

The film definatley benefits from high definition. The colours are richer and the sound is also greatly improved from the dvd format.

Its a 5 star film in my opinion and I give the conversion to HD 4 stars.

£11.99 is cheap for a bluray and it is worth every penny of that.

Without a doubt one of the true gems of 80's cinema, this utterly wacky and absolute fun classic is unique and original and although a huge comerical success on its intial release back in 1988 has become a bit of a Cult classic over the years too. Tim Burton excells in what I think was his second feature, an imaginative spooky comedy that although very outlandish and quirky is addictively fun and hard not to enjoy. A superb eerie yet comical score by Legendary composer and friend of Burton, Danny Elfman A fantastic soundtrack of memorable classics by Harry Belafonte and a truly unforgettable performance by the awesome Michael Keaton make this a must see over and over again movie masterpiece. The blu ray transfer is good, but not brilliant, but for this price, you can't really go wrong with this movie.

Great movie and not a bad transfer to Blu ray. The downside to this is that there are really poor extras (if that's what you want to call it) on the disc.
It's a shame since the movie is a Tim Burton classic but still worth a buy for the price it's offered at.

Even though the pictures still isnt perfect on BD, its a big improvement over the DVD-transfer, which was very bad. But the extras are a waste. A couple of cartoons, and no documentary.
