The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) (2 Discs) (Blu-ray)

I really didn't like the first film, I only bought this one to fill in on 3 for 2 deal.
Wow it's good. Great story, effects, characters, acting and sets. It almost rivals a lord of the rings film, just a bit more Disney-efied. I own a fair few blu's and this has to be one of the best for picture and sound.
I'm quite shocked I enjoyed this film so much, I wish I watched it in the cinema now.
Buy it, you won't regret it

I was looking forward to this movie, this was one of the iconic books from my childhood. I have to say that I very much enjoyed it, however maybe not as much as the first film. The filming was excellent, with beautiful backdrops and surroundings, very good CGI and good acting. It's been so long since I read the books however, that I can't remember if this was faithful to the original though... will have to re-read them I think! The things that let it down for me were the comedy elements, the mouse-knights and alike fitted very much with a Disney film, however I thought that they were not necessary, and detracted from the story. Also the knights masks were straight out of the 300, thought they could have been more original. Word of warning though, not sure if I would let very small children see it though as there is quite a lot of violent deaths albeit no blood. Good movie, but not a 5 star effort for me. Blu-Ray looked excellent, crystal clear and very impressive especially on the panoramic scenery shots.

I read all the Narnia books when I was a child and loved them all very much indeed. At the moment I must say the films so far are doing the books great justice and I can't wait for the next one. Prince Caspian is faster paced then the first film and has these cute sword fighting assassin mice which made me smile alot. One thing I have noticed with all my Disney Blu-ray films is that they seem to have the best hd transfers going at the moment. If you liked reading the Narnia books or enjoy fantasy films then this really is a must buy you won't regret it.

I also looked forward to the sequel, it did not dissapoint.
The story-line was a little darker in content than the first ( which seems to be the trend at present, not that it's a bad thing )
The special effects were superb, on hi-def things just seem to be getting better and better.
It has to be a '5' star rating for it's entertainment value, it held your attention throughout.
During a period of 1,000 years, since the chidren were last in narnia, it had been invaded, many of the inhabitance had it seemed been driven away from their land or killed, 'narnia' was now being ruled by the ruthless uncle of the 'prince'--'caspian'
When the uncle had a baby boy delivered 'caspian' became un-needed and had to flee for his life.
As he left he was given the 'ancient' horn to summoned help, this re-introduces the former 'kings and queens' of the kingdom to 'narnia' to help rid the kingdom of tyrany.
Make no mistake this is without doubt a brilliant watch, a must for kids of all ages, it takes you to a land beyond your imagination,as do stories like 'peter pan' ( neverland ) and 'the wizard of oz' ( oz )
Everybody need a fanasy land to escape to in their mind at some point through their childhood, it expands the imagination, films like this 'harry potter' and others like it are great vehicles for this.
'Disney' esspecially, have given an inheritence of great fantasy films to watch and enjoy over and over, do you what, they are still doing it with films such as this....................enjoy
