In this film from director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, a powerful virus is unleashed on the British public following a raid on a primate research facility by animal rights activists. Transmitted in a drop of blood and devastating within seconds, the virus locks those infected into a permanent state of murderous rage. Within 28 days the country is overwhelmed and a handful of survivors begin their attempts to salvage a future, little realising that the deadly virus is not the only thing that threatens them...

I knew exactly what i was buying with this Blu Ray. I knew there would be little or no difference with the picture but i wanted the DTS soundtrack. Awesome, so many parts that were good before really had me leap out of the seat. Wallop!!!

Also, don't knock it to much, if you play them side by side the Blu Ray is a hell of a lot darker. 28 Weeks looks great by the way, don't let this put you off. It starts off looking the same but you realise the Blu Ray effect as Robert Carlyle darts out of the window. What a turd by the way, i wouldn't leave my wife in that house. I'm not doing my smegging ironing.

Great movie, very poor picture quality

To sum it up, the picture is very poor and i find it hard to understand why it was released on blu ray, bearing in mind how it was filmed.

I would say stick to the dvd release on an upscaler, as the picture does not get any better than you have seen on dvd releases.

For die hard fans, you may wish to over look this and still buy on blu ray, as the sound does seem improved, but this could be my only praise.

Hope this honest review helps

Just Buy The DVD. The Picture Quality is The Same.

I love this film and i have since it came out years ago. I was looking forward to its release on blu-ray. However i think the picture quality on this blu-ray is exactly the same as on dvd. (I put this down to this being the style of the film, gritty and raw looking) also the film was a budget film by "movie" standards so i dont think it will ever look better than it did on dvd. There are also no special features on the disc other than those on the normal dvd release. Save your money! You really will be disapointed with the picture quality(regardless of your television or blu-ray player.) :(
Still a great film though!
Turns out the film was shot on a standard deffinition digital camera so there never can or will be a real high deffinition copy of the movie to own.

The quality is as about as good as it can get on this as a majority was filmed using a DVD device so if you already have the DVD version you might aswell stick with it unless of course if you want the ultimate in sound thats where the blu ray beats the old dvd counterpart!!!

 Great Film, Bad Transfer

I think everything has been said already, great movie but the quality of it has left me angry. I already have the film on dvd and was really looking forward to watching it in hd, but no, i sit here bitterly disappointed with my purchase.
