Titles Comprise:

28 Days Later:In this film from director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, a powerful virus is unleashed on the British public following a raid on a primate research facility by animal rights activists. Transmitted in a drop of blood and devastating within seconds, the virus locks those infected into a permanent state of murderous rage. Within 28 days the country is overwhelmed and a handful of survivors begin their attempts to salvage a future, little realising that the deadly virus is not the only thing that threatens them...

28 Weeks Later:Six months after the rage virus has annihilated the British Isles, the US Army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. In the first wave of returning refugees, a family is reunited - but one of them unwittingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever.

A Bit of A Scam for 28 Days, but both are great films

First and foremost: Both of these are great films. The acting is great, as are the story line and special effects. Why then am i only giving 4 stars?
Be warned: 28 Days later is quite clearly not shot in hd, and the original footage has just been run through a computer to make it look...vaguely better. A good quality blu-ray player will do the same. What i am trying to say is buy the dvd for 28 days later, and save yourselves a few quid!
As for 28 weeks later... It is a great movie, and is in hi-def.

The good: Great special effects (seeing an abandoned london is very cool!) and an original storyline

The bad: A bit of a scam with the first disc.

For people who enjoyed:
I am legend
30 Days of night
Dawn of the dead
Resident evil

A top notch zombie horror-thriller!

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

28 Days Later (British Version) *****
The film is truly great, I think this has to be one of the best British films to come out of Modern Cinema. The concepts and story is great as is the directing. The acting was really good too bar Megan Burns, who was the daughter in the film. I think that her acting in the film was good in parts, where it counted but slacked a lot in some parts. At least she's having more success with being a singer though! Cillian Murphy was great in the film too, and if you've read any of my reviews then you know that I'm a Cillian Murphy fan. I thought he characterised the role great to fit himself and worked with the role very well. Naomi Harris had the standout performance though, i thought that she well very good in the film and had a great character to play, which would have been hard for others to pull off. I think that Naomi Harris is definitely an actor to watch because she is a great actor and is showing off her talent in other productions like Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3, and Poppy Shakespeare, which were all good. Christopher Eccleston wasn't great in the film either, but lets face it, he's not best known for his acting abilities.

28 Days Later was a great film, or i think it was anyway. It had a great revenge scene and a good ending that was built up to greatly! The sound was great in the film too, Music fitted really well to the editing and made a great atmosphere building in the end of the film. The beginning of the film was great as well though. The scenes of empty London were great, really gave great tension to the film. This also made the backdrop of London feel a lot more real, making it differ to all the other zombie films out there, because if felt more realistic and gritty.

28 Weeks Later (American Version) ****
28 Weeks Later is a fantastic film. The film is set 28 weeks after the infection hit and the Americans are repopulating Britain. This film is bigger than the first, no doubt about it. A little bit better visually, and the scenes of empty London are brilliant and really creepy. The infected are also a lot more scary in this one, they seem smarter than what they were made out to be in the first. The film also has a kick ass soundtrack mainly responsible to Muse, who are brilliant!
The film had a great opening and is my favourite part of the film.
The rest of the film let the whole end product down though as it started to lack in pace and the American money, and producing came more visible.

Robert Carlyle is great, he really shines in the beginning film and plays his character great. He also played the infected character well. Rose Bryan was good but wasn't great, but you can't really flaw her on anything. Imogen Poots (Tammy) was great and played her part brilliantly. She really suited the role. Mackintosh Muggleton (Andy) was terrible. Sorry but i thought his voice was annoying and the acting sometimes distracted you from the story because of how bad he was. Classic example of an average child actor who is in a role too big for him.
The standout performance though was Catherine McCormack who is fantastic in this. And you really feel for her character. It was great to see her in another big screen film after Braveheart, (which was quite a while ago). All the other acting was great too and couldn't be flawed.

The film altogether is very different from the first one, a lot more violent, and feels like a bigger budgeted film. The scenes of London bring the film together well and the whole atmosphere of the film is great and very creepy. It's a very different take on zombie movies.

4 stars overall, 28 Days though is not good quality in HD and is like said below really obviously not 1080p!!

First film has not got any real special effects to boast about, but doesnt need them. Well acted and gripping.

I love the first movie and would recommend it to anyone.
Almost all of it was shot using Canon XL-1s DV cameras, the only scene shot with 35mm is right at the end, this is why the uneducated don't rate this release. If you want to see how good the transfer actually is you have to watch the last scene, 3 minutes from the end.
You won't see a huge picture improvement with the Blu-ray over the DVD due to how it was filmed but richness of colours & dark scenes are much better.
The DTSHD-MA sound track is amazing and a lot better than the standard DD audio track that features on the DVD, I think it's worth buying just for that.
Don't forget to watch the film with the comentary from director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, it's very entertaining and informative.
