I have probably watched Zulu over a hundred times but last night watched it in HD and wow, I was speechless. I picked up on minor things which I haven't before and the quality and imagery is absolutely fantastic. I couldn't believe how good the quality was.
Definitely a buy, even if you have it on normal DVD then for the price this a definite buy.

  stand and fight against thousands

story is not accurate according to history account. film is superb picture quality in blue ray amazing natal background scenes . i thought the sound quality was lacking for blue ray hence reason for 4 stars but overall good movie .

after defeating the british army at 'isandhlwana' killing around 1200 regulars along with severeral hundred african helpers the 'zulu's' turn there attention to the mission at 'rorke's drift'
there are little over 100 soldiers at 'rorke's drift' largely made up of welsh engineers, faced with the onslaught of 4000 zulu warriors.
the 100 prevailed against overwhelming odds.
lt john chard commanded the small company with 'lt gonville bromhead' 2nd in command.
eleven victoria crosses were issued as a result of outstanding bravery 'january 22nd-23rd 1879' including former melingerer 'private henry hook' in no other single encounter have so many 'VC's' been awarded.
this remains one of my all time favourite movies which i first saw nearly 50 years ago.............surely standing the test of time, along with giving legendary actor 'micheal caine' his first role.
terrific movie

Wow! What a classic remastered for our deligt and delight indeed! The story of the small company of british soldiers standing their ground against a vastly number of zulu warriors who want to fight, and how the larger company of british soldiers were annhilated! The action is steady but now a full gun ho blast it builds up to good tension between the soldiers and the zulus! The blu-ray transfer is breathtaking how old is this film? The colour is clear and so vivd and the sound i thought was brillant (notice gripes that it wasnt 5.1 is your tv?) and the price for this is so low buy and enjoy!

  Was this made this year?

Thats how good the picture is.I never get sick of seeing this. The only thing that could have made it better, would have been to show blood and wounds on the naked flesh of zulu's who had just been shot

Fantastic film. It may be an older film but still hasnt lost any of its class. Great cast with an early role from Micheal Cain Which he plays very well. Great action and storey. With Welsh and English soldiers with standing a attack at forks drift by and massive Zulu army. Only the brave will survive no matter if they carry weapons. Even better now in blu-ray with a crystal clear picture and stunning sound a must have for everyone.

Watched this movie twice in two days because I couldn't believe the picture quality of a nearly 50 year old film. Absolutely stunning picture quality and colour that puts many modern films to shame. A classic story of heroism against incredible odds
