Not a bad movie but it is long for what it is. I think that the performance from Denzil Washington and Russell Crowe are fantastic and they both work so well together on this movie.
Ridley Scott was the best man for this movie and he doesn't disappoint. It's also great to see this movie in an Extended Edition. I prefer these versions to any Theatrical Editions.
The Blu ray print and sound is brilliant and crisp. The extras that come with the disc are also good. The chat track with Ridley Scott tells you alot about the background to the story and the real characters it portrays. The PIP is always great to watch and there is a great documentary on there called Uncovering the Past - The Real Frank Lucas and Richie Roberts.
It's the best feature on the disc and well worth buying on Blu ray.

  Great film, disappointing Blu Ray

I watched this on DVD first, loved the film, 4 out of 5. Great performances by Denzel and Russell. Bought it for £12.99 from play.com. Have to say I can't see much difference between DVD and Blu Ray. (Was a massive difference on The Departed, an older film). In hindsight I would have picked this up for £5 on DVD, although the 2 disc set with extras as on the Blu Ray, would be more expensive. As it is set in the 70's and with a very grey palette, the normal Blu Ray quality did not shine through. It does have a DTS HD soundtrack. Try before you buy.
