A visually stunning film shot over 13 months, in 24 countries; Baraka is an overwhelming experience that spans the geographical, cultural and social diveristy of our changing planet. Set to an atmospheric soundtrack inspired by various rituals and nature itself; the film captures the very essence of man's relationship with the earth, both harmonious and catastrophic. Baraka is a journey of rediscovery. It is the power, the beauty and the rage of life itself. It is the world we live in.

The UK version is region locked so if you have a US PS3 (like me) it won't play.
This is a must have disc to "show-off" to your friends and family. The PQ is incredible and looks like your TV is a window that you find yourself gazing in wonderment at the lifelike and almost 3D images.
The sound is decent but is rather sedate and tranquil (well this is a documentary) so don't expect Iron Man or Cloverfield type of Thunderous rapture.

Of all my Blue Ray discs (80) - nothing comes even close to the quality production of Baraka! How they have mastered the 8k raw analog data to a 1080p release is truly amazing! I have seen this on a 46" Samsung LED and never seen anything like it! A true masterpiece for EVERY blueray collection.
This is definitly a movie to have in your collection! At first I thought that a movie this long with no sort of story to it would drag on but I was soo wrong, by the end of it I just wanted it to go on forever. The visuals are so stunning that it often looks better than real life, and the audio matches the tone just perfectly! I often have this playing in the background because its nice to be able to gland over at something so beautiful every now and then. This movie was made in 1992 but if anything has more relevance now then it did back then. This movie just shows the world for what it is, good and bad in all its glory!
Wow, simply stunning, beautiful shots and out of this world music, the director manages to evoke feelings from peace to anger from hapiness to sadness. A must have, if not for anything else at least to appreciate what we have. By the way I played it on a UK PS3 and it worked perfectly every one of the 3 times I watched it.
