Quantum Of Solace continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (Daniel Craig) in Casino Royale.

Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world's most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene's sinister plan and stop his organisation.

This biggest question with this film is `Is this a Bond movie?' In my opinion, it is how Bond was always supposed to be if you read the Ian Fleming novels. After many discussions with friends I think there will always be a difference of opinion. Many people expect the Bond movies to be like the Roger Moore incarnation, not early Connery and Dalton, while Craig is probably even grittier than even those two. I am actually a fan of this style. Ironically this movie is truer to the Fleming spirit than most other movies and it was not even based on one of his books. I agree however that this makes it stand out less from a Bourne movie or similar because of that. This movie carries on from Casino Royale, so re-watch that movie before seeing this if you can. I think the plot is complex, however no overly so, superbly acted and the action is excellent and quite believable. An excellent movie from start to finish, however don't expect gadgets, quips and humour.

Terrible, terrible film. The worst Bond film to date!

This was painful to watch. The cinematography was all over the place, to the point of making me dizzy and giving me headache. I think the director must have been told that camera shake makes for a good action sequence! NOT!

Although supposed to continue on from Casino Royale, it really doesn't do it justice. I liked Casino Royale; the new gritty bond that isnt' afraid to go against the authority to make his point., but Quantum of Solace should without doubt remain in solitary confinement! Shockingly awful film

Not as good as it should....

How the mighty have fallen. Definitly the poor relation to the very good Casino Royale. No real story to follow just a chain of seemingly unlinked action sequences that got tedious as individual sequences let alone an entire film. The transfer and sound were good on Blu-ray but I wouldn't bother watching it again.
I find the comparison with the Bourne films strange though, as all 3 of them are very watchable, again and again and I think superior in their delivery, story, acting, action etc etc etc to the tired Bond episodes. To sum up, don't loose any sleep if you don't see this film.

This is unlike any other Bond film made it continues the story from Casino Royale which is something that has never been done before in a Bond film.
The film is packed with action, action, action from start to finish it is shorter than normal Bond films and moves at a quicker pace than Casino Royale did,The story is fantastic has a stand alone movie its not like Bond films i enjoyed it as a stand alone action flick but not as a Bond film.
If your a die hard Bond fan and loves the Connery,Moore or Brosnan flicks you wont really like this one Craig is good in this film but he is not James Bond it's more like Bourne than Bond if you watch it has an action film then you will enjoy it but watch it has a Bond film you will probably be let down.

 Just not good.

Ok so i've read a few reviews of this film and it does have a lot of mixed opnions. Personally i think it's one you have to sit down and see and make you're own mind up.
For me, whether you agree or not it's a huge disappointment. Craig may portray a Bond how it was intended but right or wrong, Bond is about the one liners, the ladies, the cars and the gadgets.

This for me is what James Bond is all about, Secret Service, the sophitiscation, arrogance and a typical mans man.

This is what i have grown up with and this is what i expect from a Bond film. Not to suddenly change things and re-design Bond and his Image.

What was wrong before?

Ok so the film is good a film but to class it as a Bond film it just isn't. I don't care whether it's how he was intended to be as i said, the fact is since the early 60's we've been led to believe Bond is everything but Daniel Craigs portrail.

May as well stick Bruce Willis as a lead and call it Die Hard 5.0.

I hope the next film has the essence of for me Bond is about. Is it about being a hardcore, ruthless killer or being a mysterious, swarve, sophisticated Brit who always gets his man and always gets the girl?

Guess we'll have to wait and see.
