Frightening, eerie and strange, The Happening is definately the film to watch if you like baffling twists, the acting may not be up to scratch but the whole idea of the film sends chills down your spine!

Great idea shame about the rest...........

M. Night Shyamalan always comes up with ideas for films that really interest me and this is no different however after about 1 minute of hearing Wahlberg speak it became apparant this was not going well. The script throughout is totally lame and the acting matches it. It is worth watching because it does have some interesting moments but it's not a good film.

Great film, give it a chance

I don't know what all the other reviews are about but I saw the film in the cinema and thought it was great,we have all seen movies about deaf and the end of the world, this is the same but with a twist, and the story line on how the world ends has never been done, trust me, GIVE IT A CHANCE.

 A disappointing movie

I did love Shyamalan's movie up on to The Village, with Lady in the water he was allready losing the plot a bit, but somewhat finds it again with The Happening, stil, the movie remains a dissappointment... However i was willing to give the Blu-ray version of the movie a second change, because it was supposed to be an extended cut with some extra's, according to me however, the running time was exactly the same as the dvd version...

Having read some of the other reviews on this site with regard to this particular film, I would just like to point out that Sixth Sense doth not a good director make.
Here is a classic example of a writer/director believing his own hype. His first film was an interesting if not particularly scary ghost story with a plot and cast so good that no director could really mess it up. The Happening is a prime example of poor direction, awful script and a silly, paper thin story. If it is nature that is the predator then why do the entire cast keep running around in fields?
I saw this film in the cinema and witnessed first hand the reaction of other viewers which was predominately giggling and looking around for the exit. This film reminded me of a sketch on Family Guy with Stephen King being asked what his next book was going to be about and he can't think of anything so he picks up a lamp off the desk and starts to make "wooo!" noises at his publisher.
M. Night needs to wind his neck in and realise that he can't fool everyone forever and very soon, Hollywood will stop taking his calls if he produces dross like this again.
