This is one great movie, great acting, great story, great athmosphere, you'll be tottally hooked from 15 mins in. Best horror in years, buy and enjoy.

  An insult to stephen king.

I will probably get this review marked down as im going to go against the crowd here but in my honest opinion i hated this film! I gave one extra star because the picture quality was good, the film on the other hand was totally awful. You're never going to make an exciting film out of people being trapped in a supermarket(okay dawn of the dead was good but they were in a mall with plenty to do). The monsters were absolutely rubbish and so were the actors, this is one film in my collection id gladly give away as i have no intention of watching it again. I can see by all the other ratings it was very popular amongst the viewers but this certainly isnt for me,i found it boring with nothing to like about it. Like i mentioned before the only positive thing i have to say about this film is that the picture quality was good.

I love this film, its nothing but brilliant! You get to know all the main characters in the first half hour and as soon as the mist arrives it has you gripped. The fx are not the greatest but you don't mind because the plot and tha acting are superb. The customers being held hostage in the store by a threat that only a few believe at first split the group in two and that what makes the film stand out as arguing, name calling, religion and muder all takes place while still trying to survive whats lurking outside in the mist and the ending will have you thinking about it for days after. Well worth the price.

  Darabont IS King...

I love Frank Darabont. The Shawshank Redemtion and The Green Mile are two of my all time favourite movies, and needless to say, I was very excited to see him do The Mist.

And I was not disappointed. Darabont's ability to scare without gore, and the mood he creates throughout the film is quite simply astonishing. The cast is perfect, with Thomas Jane in the lead, and Marcia Gay Harden as the religious fanatic. Stunning perfomances!

With the risk of spoiling the experience, I'll refrain from saying too much about the ending. All I can say is "be warned".

Looking forward to the next Darabont adaptation of Stephen Kings works. A shame he won't be doing The Dark Tower.

Another good adaptation from a Stephen King book. Very well made with good special effects even though you dont see them very often due to the mist. Good cast as Thomas Jayne is the biggest and most well known actor in it. Chilling feel to this film as well as it is so quiet and no-one to be seen outside the shop they are strandard in. Good film with a dark atmosphere.

If you are expecting a monser movie, you will be disappointed with this. Yes there are monsters, and quite a bit of blood and gore, however it is not these things that make this movie chilling.
Its true, the movie doesnt provide many (or to some people, any) scares, but the people who blew this off miss the point which this movie portrays. For those who wish to see a differnent side of horror and with an open mind, I would highly recommend this.
The true horror in this film lies within. A great movie from start and especially to finish.

What a brilliant film and it looks stunning on blu-ray. You have the choice of original colour version or the black and white version which is what the director intended the film to be released like.

Dont listing to the negative reviews, its well worth the watch and my blu-ray came with a free copy of the book too.

Up there with being one of the best Stephen King adaptions.
