Armageddon (Blu-ray)

not going to talk about the movie,as most people know just how good it is. the blu ray transfer,however, is just fantastic.i went straight to the launch sequence, and happy to say both picture and sound, of the lift off,flight,scenes of earth, were just superb.an excellent purchase,and replacement of my old copy.

Armageddon is the movie that has Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Director Michael Bay firing on all cylinders.
The movies is a highly enjoyable Sci Fi Action extravaganza.
The story is obviously not scientifically accurate, but credit to Michael Bay and his team for making it plausible when you are watching it.
The Director is there with full Trademark Fast cuts, Pumping Music, Orange Tints and OTT action.
And what a cast of actors, some of the Actors were not Big names when the movie came out, so watching the movie now, makes it seem like an all star affair.
With Bruce Willis at his smirking best. Ben Affleck in a brash cocky role that he did well. Billy Bob Thornton brought some class to proceedings. Will Patton's character brings the emotion, Live Tyler is very good, Michael Clarke Duncan, Owen Wilson, Peter Stomare and Steve Bucemi bring the Laughs.
The film also boasts if a pretty good soundtrack. A must for any Action collection

when films like this are released on 'blu-ray' our hope is that they transfer well on to the format , well, it's good-news, both the visual's and sound are of great quality.
i, as i'n sure apply's to many of you, just love these apocalyptic type movies with bucket loads of special-effects.
the story tells of a giant 'astroid' hurtling toward earth with little over a couple of weeks before impact, a 'team' are gathered together, put through a 'crash' course training regime to enable them to travel into space,along with an expierienced crew, land on the astroid shifting through space at 22,000 m.p.h., drill a '800 ft ' hole and planting a 'bomb' to seperate the astroid, and...try to escape before detenation.
this is an exciting and tense roller-coaster ride, maybe a bit 'gun-ho' as many of this type of films are, but putting that aside...it's great fun......'great 'blu-ray' material.

Brilliant humour accompanied with nail-biting action make this a must have title.

I absolutely love this film

This will become my new showcase film for my 50" plasma.

It's been my favoruite film of all time and the blu-ray release has been on my wishlist for ages.

While there may not be anything special in the way of extras, I really don't care. I'm more than happy with the main film.

The sound and picture are quite literally out of this world. The whole re-master is just jaw droppingly awesome and brings new life in to a 12 year old film.

If you love Armageddon and own a HD screen this is definetely worth the purchase.
