Predator 1 & 2 Double Pack (Blu-ray)

The master used for the Predator disc is identical to the one for the DVD. Whether it was the intention of McT to film it in such a grainy manner - who knows. I have bought this having sold my laserdisc copy - if you are thinking of replacing your DVD - don't bother. Predator 2 on the otherhand is relatively good, but not much better than the DVD. As I love both films, I have moved on to a higher format and I am fairly happy, but for such iconic films, more effort should have been put in to providing a better transfer. Overall, I would stick to your DVD copies if you have them.

First off the Blu-ray transfer for Predator 1 is very poor indeed, probably the worst I have seen so far, I couldn't tell the differance from the DVD version upscaled on my PS3. The transfer for Predator 2 is better and there is a notable differance in PQ compared to DVD, although the night scenes do suffer from abit of grain.

I hadn't seen the Predator movies for a while and I thought the 1st predator was alot better than it actually is, but Predator 2 definitely saves this from getting a 2 star. It's the better movie and has a few special features on it, unlike Predator 1 which doesn't have any.
