One of the greatest films film 4 has ever released. All star cast, plenty of iconic moments and Robby Carlisle's best film to date, next to the 51st state.
Even better and clearer in blu ray than on old grainy channel four or DVD, a must have for anyone who loved this first time around and wants to experience it again this generation in full hd.

Bought this while back as it was on offer, I have the Wide Screen Video and have to say it would quite possibly look better than this Blu Ray!! We buy Blu Ray to get the best picture possibly so this is really unacceptable.
Picture isn't great and the judder is just annoying.
One of the best films and deserves a better Blu Ray transfer!

  Great film, shabby blu ray.

Is there anything else that needs saying about Trainspotting? A cultural phenomenon in the mid 1990's, thanks to its sharp story, great visual ideas and highly likeable (if morally grey) character. It even has bond references to boot.

The Blu ray transfer is less satisfying, however. It looks like it has been upscaled from the SD version, clearly it hasnt been remastered and it suffers from that. Washed out colours and specks of dust and dirt from the print. I appreciate the film didnt have the budget to make itself look beautiful, but I think the problem lies in the transfer.

If you like the film, you wont be dissapointed, but be aware, the high definition version isnt that great.

Released at the same time as many other violent thrillers, Trainspotting stood out because it was different, British and because it's message was all to relevant. The issue of drug abuse has always been prevalent in movies but no movie has ever charted the effects of heroin addiction more realistically and unforgivingly as Trainspotting.

From the moment "lust for Life" kicks in along with the now infamous opening speech by Ewan Mcgregor (Renton) this movie never lets go of you until the very end. There are moments of slapstick comedy, sadness, depressing human suffering and sickening violence but your attention is gripped throughout.
Seriously, the best British film of the last 20 years.

If you've chosen Blu Ray, choose Trainspotting for your collection.

This is one of those films that makes you think while it thrills you. A masterpiece of British film, and essential viewing.
