 Funny Coens Comedy

Good movie by the Coens. In Comedy mode again after the Dark Drama of No Country for Old Men. Not on Par with the Classic Raising Arizona or The Big Lebowski but MUCH better than Intolerable Cruelty and The Ladykillers. The story is pretty silly but works due to the acting and writing. The performances are good and bad, Pitt is Hilarious, Clooney is Quirky, Malkovich is Brilliant, Frances Mc Dormand starts off well but gets annoying and Tild Swinton is annoying in ALL her scenes.
Not Clasic Coens, but good nontheless.

This is the worst film I have ever seen, 96 minutes of my life wasted which I'll never get back!

The 'Burn Before Watching' review was spot on, don't waste your money on this complete tat, buy 'Taken' instead.

 Brilliant black comedy

This is Coens best movie, the story is outstanding and the actors at their best (especially Pitt and MacDormand). I just love it.

...and what was the point in that?

Settled down on a Saturday night to watch this. what a waste of time. I am usually one for dark comedy but this was poor. The story flits around but actually goes nowhere... This is all I will write about
This as I can't be bothered.... Much like the film makers I guess....

Brad Pitt - Rocks along with an excellent star cast...

This movie is genius. It is what i like to call intelligent humour. It is not an obvious comedy. The story is very dark aswell. As someone mentions below its not one of those you will watch again and again. But it is one to have in the collection, as certain scenes leave an impact on you as you want to stick it on from time to time.Brad pitt stole the show in this movie. It is quite slow moving, but the story does have you gripped from beginning to end. It gets a 3star from me, as it was a bit far to serious for me. They should have left it to being a comedy. Just a warning if your expecting Clooney and Pitt to share a screen together like OCeans eleven trilogy they don't. My advise is rent this movie, rather than buying it straight away. But definately worth a watch.

one star because i couldnt give it zero

Great story, great script however very rarely would you watch it again.

Coens on autopilot, more laughs required.

While No Country For Old Men neared perfection, and the cast in this film is incredible, the material they are working with just isn't up to scratch.

The excellent John Malkovich is an aging CIA agent. A copy of his memoirs get lost at a gym and Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand try to blackmail him in order to give his disc back. Add several other characters including George Clooney, Tilda Swindon etc, all acting is excellent, but there is just a lot of coincidence, few funny moments and overall I was largely disappointed. I just kept waiting for something really funny to happen or a really memorable scene. There is perhaps one, but I won't ruin that.

I think my favourite character was Brad Pitt as a Gatorade drinking, energy filled simple man working at the gym.

Would highly recommend renting before you buy. Also try Street Kings which was a fantastic LA cop thriller.
