I was warned to stay away from this BD version due to bad picture quality conversion, it took the risk and was ever so glad I did. The PQ was absolutely stunning, saw the film on DVD release and that's another reason for the BD purchase. The film has plenty of humor and cute cudly scenes and overall a stoyline that keeps any youngster and the big kid (me) pleased throughout.

A must purchase for the BD collection!

A monster addition to your collection.

Picture - 10
Sound - 10

In a feild of Pixar powerhouses this movie does shine. The characterisation an the imagination in the creatures on screen is just stunning, (topped only by the expansive thinking in the creation of Horton Hears a Who). Now, that can be said of most Pixar productions since Toy Story with a few really standout flicks, Cars, The incredibles, Ratatouile?? (spelling - 1) amongst them, Monsters Inc is one to watch over and over without wearing thin. Can't wait to see the BD version and know I am going to be as absorbed in the veiwing experience as I was the first time round, BRING IT ON!!! Can now add that the BD version is stunning, picture and sound are a class above the already very good original DVD. Brilliant and don't miss it!

Not going to comment on the Movie, it really well and truly speaks for itself. The Blu-ray quality is phenominal. The colours and detail are outstanding, watch in wonder at the clarity of characters and their environment. The first animated movie to have individual moving hairs finally gets the format it deserves. Don't have HD audio available, however, have noticed a marked difference in sound compared to the DVD version. Extras are excellent too, the Out-takes and Company Play are always worth a watch.
Grand Job Disney!!

  Best looking Bluray out there

Like most bluray addicts, I was eagerly awaiting the release of this (and other Pixar) films. This dropped through the letterbox, and into the PS3. All I can say is WOW. The picture quality is absolutely incredible. Every strand of hair on Sully is visible, and it just looks gorgeous. Colours are vibrant and depth amazing. You simply owe it to yourself to own this bluray, if nothing else to see just what it is capable of. Sound too just blew me away. I always remembered this film fondly, but when it looks and sounds as perfect as this, it has went up to a whole new level. I cant wait for the likes of The Incredibles and Finding Nemo now. At £13.99 this is amazing value for money.

Monsters Inc shines onto Blu-ray....absolute Pixar magic

| | See all swartzy's reviews (82)

Monsters Inc is undoubtedly up there with the best Pixar releases to date and this simplistic story of Sulley(voiceover John Goodman) the loveable monster who is top of the scream parade along with Mike (voiceover Billy Crystal) his amicable wisecracking sidekick shines onto blu-ray with a fantastic vibrant crystal clear transfer that is glorious in every sense....Watch out for Boo the little girl Sulley befriends as he looks to top up on his screams....The textures on Mike the little one eyed monster are such that they have never been seen in standard dvd...this is really a no brainer must buy in picture quality alone but add in a DTS 5.1 HD sound option and this really puts the icing in the cake....The surround is very detailed and loud and is a definite step up on dvd also....This is one of the quality blu-rays from Pixar again and it is a must buy for anyone who wants to upgrade from dvd....pure genius...The storyline of Mike and Sulley being top employees of Monsters Inc factory in Monstropolis where Monsters transfer children's screams into energy almost like electricity....Sulley befriends Boo a loveable little girl with big brown eyes who he takes a liking too in one of his outings and who goes against company policy as humans of any kind can contaminate Monsters...What follows is one of the must touching Pixars that captured the world over with it's magical storyline that makes it sheer class in animation terms.....

  Best Pixar film by far!

| | See all fardene's reviews (1)

Whilst there isn't a bad pixar film, this is the funniest by far - the sully/mikey relationship is priceless. There's an element of Mikey in most of us, ever the optimist and slightly crazy. Remember Children are killing machines!
Oh, yes there an awesome sweeded version on You Tube
As with these films, the Blu Ray should be excellent on the large screen plasma or projector.
