The saw franchise is one of the rare entities in the film industry where the sequels are just as good, if not better than the original. It's difficult to keep the storyline going, but they do it well, piecing in information from earlier movies to help keep the viewer up to date.

And the gore is the glue that sticks it all together, and in high definition it's just even better for all horror fans.

 Not the best, but..

Admittingly, its not the best in series. But I think the director went down the story-line route mixed with some blood and gore, as opposed to creating his own plot and story to follow.
This film uses its runtime to mainly tie up the unanswered questions from the previous films, while adding its own into the mix to set up for the 6th film.
Thats the quick review out the way.
Blu-Ray wise, im looking forward to it. I was bitterly dissappointed with the 1st 2 blu-ray conversions (imported) way too grainy to even bother, upscale a R2 DVD instead. 3 and 4 on the other hand, they were much better. Sharp picture, brilliant sound. Hopefully the R2 Blu Ray release of the 1st 2 will be re-done.

Dont really know how to review this film but here it goes in my opinion this film is mainly used to answer questions we are all confused about. At the end of saw 4 i was confused as hell but after saw 5 i felt a like i had learned something it does have some better tortue scenes in but i mainly think this film is made for the fans seeking answers definatly worth buying 9/10

Having watched this movie and also been a massive Saw fan , i must say i've seen it all before. New traps and a very good plot which brings all the films together but how far can you go with it because guess what...............SAW 6 is coming out in october and its said to be the final one. But overall a good film and if you like saw and lots of gore its worth a watch.

Average Entry to the Saw Franchise.

Another year another Saw movie. This is a definate improvement on number IV which had an ending a bit too complex for its own good whereas this movie is fairly straight forward if drawing a lot from the first few movies which you really need to have seen.

Unfortunately the 'kills' if you will are beginning to lose their inventiveness which is the reason people watch these films similar to the Final Destination films where it is all about how the people die rather than why.

With film VI on the way I hope they leave the original Jagsaw behind and start a new story and this movie is told a lot with new flashbacks just to keep the character in the movie even using old footage from the first 4 movies.

Its a passable entry to franchise and given the amount of flashbacks will be hard to follow if this is your first Saw movie but a must have for fans of the series.
