Clint Eastwood directs Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich in Changeling a provocative thriller based on actual events.

Los Angeles, 1928: On a Saturday morning in a working-class suburb, Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) said goodbye to her son, Walter, and left for work. When she came home, she discovered he had vanished. A fruitless search ensues, and months later, a boy claiming to be the nine-year-old is returned. Dazed by the swirl of police, reporters and her conflicted emotions, Christine allows him to stay overnight. But in her heart, she knows he is not Walter.

As she pushes authorities to keep looking, she learns that in Prohibition-era L.A. women don't challenge the system and live to tell their story. Slandered as delusional and unfit, Christine finds an ally in activist Reverend Briegleb (Malkovich), who helps her fight the city to look for her missing boy.

All I can say is that Kate Winslet must be awsum in The Reaper as Jolie is pretty amazing in this. I have only ever seen AJ in 'action' movies (wanted, Tomb Raider etc) and in this movie she proves she can act. I didn't know anything about the plot before I watched it, but found the movie to be a good fast paced drama, that is never boring. Clint Eastwood captures the Los Angeles period perfectly and there are a few shocking moments that make you think 'how did that happen'.

All in all a very good film, only minus point for me was that it looked nothing special on BluRay and there are no notable special features, to make it worth the extra cost. I would settle for a normal copy and just enjoy a great movie.

Best Clint Eastwood film since A Perfect World!

I caught this film in the cinema and was blown away by just how powerful it is. Angelina jolie should have won oscar for best actress at the 2009 academy awards, her performance is 'that' good! This is by far one of the best films of 2008, and the best clint eastwood directed film since a perfect world (also about a boy kidnapped). This and gran tarino are perfect examples that clint eastwood is still...the man!

 A Terrifying Experience.

This film is so not what I thought I was going to be watching.
I thought it was gonna be a standard story of a Mother and Son parting and then reuniting.
But it is much more. The side story that is incorporated at the farm, is Heartbreaking and Sickening.
The film is a very good film but a completely Sad experience.
The Direction by Clint Eastwood and the Acting from Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich is First Rate.
John Malkovich should have been given a few more meaty scenes to get his teeth into.
A Very good film, but only a One Time watch due to the subject matter.

This is the most amazing film based on a true story.

For me Clint Eastwood is the biggest icon in Hollywood today because he has acted in and directed so many classic films over his very long career. Changeling is one of Eastwoods best films as a director and is based on the most amazing yet very shocking true story. Angelina Jolie plays the role of Christine Collins in which her son goes missing for five months. When she is reunited with her son there is a big problem because it isn't her boy. So many different things go wrong for Mrs Collins in this harrowing film because of all the corruption within the LAPD during the 1920's. I must say Eastwood captures Los Angeles during this time period perfectly and gets the best out of all of his actors especially Angelina Jolie who was most excellent. Changeling may not be a very uplifting film but don't let that put you off because it really is a brilliant movie and should become a classic.

 Masterpiece

One of the best true story to screen films I have ever seen. Shocking and gripping to the end, Angelina is amazing as always and gave a very powerful performance. Five stars not enough, 10 out of 10.
