Forget the poor Thomas Jane version this is bar far the closest stab at getting The Punisher nearer to is comic book roots. Unlike the last version (I chose to forget the Dolph one ever happened) where the entire focus of the movie was Frank Castle getting revenge on the people responsible for killing his family this movie skirts over it.

In this movie Frank Castle 'punishes' anyone who does wrong. His family was just the the catalyst. This is an ultra violent movie but one laced with humour (see how Castle dispatches one of his enemies on a rooftop with a rocket launcher as an example).

Ray Stevenson of Rome fame also looks more like Castle than Jane ever did.

The picture here is a 4.5 from me and the sound a 5/5 especially during the two massive shootouts that open and close the movie. If you are a fan of mindless action you cant go far wrong with this.

At last The Punisher has been done with lots of gore!!!

I have the first Punisher movie that starred Thomas Jane and John Travolta which I enjoyed but I felt it lacked blood and not enough cool death scenes. I am a big gamer as well as being a film buff and got the game The Punisher on the PS2 in which you kill baddies in many different fun ways with lots of the red stuff. I am so glad that the director Lexi Alexander has given us The Punisher as he should be done at last and yes the story might be a bit silly but it least it has a story, unlike that pile of rubbish called Shoot Em-Up which made my brain switch off. The main villain is called Jigsaw (Billy Russoti) and he is a bit over the top and funny, very much like a Batman villain really. I know what people are thinking Jigsaw thats the same name as the bloke from the SAW films but, don't forget The Punisher comics were around way befor those films. Ray Stevenson does a most excellent job in playing the role of Frank Castle/The Punisher. The Blu-ray transfar is top notch and the special features are good. Hollywood please take note as this is how a gory action film should be done at last with some substance and cool deaths.

If you thought the original was good guess again, warzone is an action-comic masterpiece, looks like its right off the pages of the comic, a brilliant cast and story packed with violence, if your a hardcore comic fan or action junkie then its a must watch indeed.

 Blam Blam Fest!

This is the third celuloid outing for the Punisher and by far the best and most violent. The violence in this is enpar with Rambo, so do not watch it if you don't like blood and guts.

Based on a Marvel Knights Comic character, The Punisher aim is to just do that, Punish people who commit crime. One could say his motivation is the fact his family were gunned doown by the Mafia, but that is just a catalyst for the Punisher. He doesn't reason, or talk, he just kills.

This is not Shakespeare, or some artfest like the first incredible hulk film, but a no nonsense violent action film. Watch out for the scene with the rocket launcher, which is a classic.
