A decade has passed since John Connor helped prevent Judgment Day and save mankind from mass destruction. Now 22, Connor lives "off the grid" - no home, no credit cards, no cell phone and no job. No record of his existence. No way he can be traced by Skynet - the highly developed network of machines that once tried to kill him and wage war on humanity. Until out of the shadows of the future steps the T-X, Skynet's most sophisticated cyborg killing machine yet.

 Really good sequel!

OK this may sound like heresy folks, but to be entirely honest I prefer T3 to T2 anyway. There is something that is just too overblown about T2 that means I can't really watch it anymore. But Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines is a really taut well paced movie, with some good performances from Nick Stahl as the young adult John Connor and Claire Danes as Katherine Brewster who helps him. Arnie's final starring film peformance is good too, he was always perfect as the Terminator and he does another fine job here. Kristanna Loken is also really good as the new dangerous (and foxy!) Terminator the TX.

On the Blu-ray disc side of things the transfer is not bad at all but I've seen better and sharper ones as it does look a bit fuzzy in places. The extras are much the same as the DVD but there is an excellent commentary from Director Jonathan Mostow who is really interesting to listen to.

T3 Rise of the Machines is my second favourite of the Terminator films and hopefully in time it will be thought of as an underrated classic.

 "..GREAT FUN SCI-FI.."

Terminator 3 will never be as cult classic as the first 2 Cameron movies but its still lots of fun with good performances from Schwarzenegger and the brilliant Kristanna Loken who almost outshines Schwarzenegger with her sexy female terminator lead role, the story is pretty good and fits into the timeline ok, it just dont feel as classic as Terminator 2 but its still worth having in your series as it has some cool big action pieces and fights.

Not in the Class of the First 2 Movies

Didnt like this movie when I saw it at the cinema, just didn't have the Intimate Moments that the first 2 movies had.
Seemed just to be an excuse to make another Terminator movie for the sake of it.
The movie is not really bad, if you watch the trailer for it, it looks a blast, its just that its nowhere near as good as the first 2, in terms of Action, Imagination or Story.
The best part of it was the last 10 mins, which make the series come full circle.
The direction is OK, the Action set pieces seemed to be patched together and feel that they could belong to any Action movie.
The acting is ok, everyone does their bit. For me it was just general disappointment.

Not as good as T1 and T2 but much better than T4:Salvation

This is not as bad as people make it out to be - It had the enormous task of following up Terminator 2 and the original classic The Terminator - so the only way it could have been as good was if James Cameron himself decided to write and/or direct this.

But the film is an entertaining sequel - while inferior to the previous two movies - its still a thousand times better than the 4th movie Terminator Salvation.

The performances are all good - And its a good addition to any action/sci fi collection. Jonathon Mostow made the masterful chase movie 'Breakdown' - so I was somewhat disappointed with the truck/car chase in this as it wasn't anywhere near as thrilling as Breakdown's numerous chase sequences.

The movie is still good for its humour and performances - especially Nick Stahl who is another excellent John Connor (it's disappointing they didn't use him for Salvation - it may have improved that movie's chances of critical success.). Nick Stahl's performance of the future leader of the human resistance is very cool - mixed with humour, drama and action - its a full all round performance as good as Edward Furlong in T2 and much better than Christian Bale's limited performance in Termninator: Salvation.

Also the new Terminator is very eye catching and has some neat scenes which reflect back to the first movie and the second in terms of their theme.

Arnold is as good as ever - And manages to pull off another great performance of his most loved iconic character.

This is a good movie - unfortunately its just not as brilliant a sequel as Terminator 2. Still highly recommended.

Not as good as first 2 films. Shame James Cameron didnt make the third film sooner or Edward Furlong could not reprise his role as John Connor. This would have made the relationship with arnie better. Still has v good moments.
