If you loved the original movie then you will love this! The story takes place back in the past where we see Jaa's character as a child growing up and training to become a master in weapons and martial arts so he can avenge the death of his parents and the villainy that surrounds his home, Jaa has come along way since the original and really worked on his skills and kicks some major butt in plenty of quality fight scenes! He is fantastic to watch and brings so many different styles to his fighting. The movie ends on a fantastic battle between Jaa and a ton of enemies its pretty awesome to watch, he even uses elephants! It all ends a bit suddenly but only to be continued in Ong bak 3! Well worth checking out if you love a bone crunching fight movie! The picture quality is pretty good too.
This film left me feeling very disappointed the story is weak and lacked all the wow of the previous films fight scenes. Tony Jaa shouldnt be writing bad storylines and keep to the fighting and stunts. Ong Bak and the Warrior King are much better films in my opinion. I dont think I could give this film away even if I tried.
Before i start i must make it clear i am a big Tony Jaa fan,But oh dear what happened with ONG BAK THE BEGINNING
Then first film was jaw dropping bone crunching raw never seen before action, the second movie not quite as good but very watchable but the third instalment is terrible, the first thirty minutes ,where he is saved by the outlaw king and trains him to be a martial arts expert is boring and to long,Tony Jaa script i guess was less than an A4 piece of paper ,and his hair covered his face so in the end i could not care if he lived or died,i was hoping he would die to get the film over with.
The story line was simple ,which was not a problem, the action seemed to me to be speeded up and looked silly, and the actual fight scenes are very poor and nothing said to me WOW must see that again,,so i am afraid to say after this film he might loose some fans and i guess he won't make any new ones
Sorry Tony
The films will be iconic in years to come. sub titles are not an issue the story is very basic, but if this man follows Bruce Lee and Jet Lee to hollywood - well you decide. WHAT IT LACKS IN STORY IT MAKES UP IN THE FIGHTS.
Firstly , lets point something out. No-body watches a Martial Arts movie for the story. If there's a story its a bonus.
What this film is, is a work of art.
Tony Jaa as a martial artist is phenomenal to watch, and in this film he uses other styles such as Kung Fu which is a change from the usual fight style we've come to expect.
The fight scenes are jaw droppingly good but what you also get with this movie is a little culture as well, which in Blu-Ray looks stunning.
A martial arts must
