Revenge is coming

Two years have passed since Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBouef), Optimus Prime (voiced by Transformers: The Series' Peter Cullen) and the Autobots saved the planet from Megatron (voiced by The Matrix Trilogy's Hugo Weaving) and the Decepticons. Despite Sam's extreme heroics, the battle of Mission City has become an urban legend believed only by conspiracy theorists. Now he's preparing for the biggest challenge in his life: Leaving home for college. What will happen to his girlfriend, Mikaela Megan Fox and his robot protector, Bumblebee? Meanwhile, the Autobots work with the US military, Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and USAF Master Sergeant Epps (Tyrese Gibson) to track down the remaining Decepticon forces on Earth, although National Security Advisor Theodore Galloway (John Benjamin Hickey) has other ideas when it comes to the safety of the human race. When Sam's college experience sours amidst nerdy roommates (Ramon Rodriguez), sexy stalkers (Isabel Lucas) and strange, unexplainable visions, he seeks to understand what the Decepticons know only too well. A normal life will have to wait, because an ancient enemy is on its way to destroy Earth! Can Sam, Optimus and co. save the day in the ultimate battle of good vs. evil?

Play.com Review

DreamWorks and Paramount reunites the cast and crew of the 2007 summer blockbuster in Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. With executive producer Steven Spielberg on board, performances from Shia LeBouef, Megan Fox and John Turturro, plus Star Trek script-writing team Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, this sci-fi, action spectacular marks 25 years since the original animated television show, Transformers: The Series graced our screens.

The second highest opening day gross of all-time behind The Dark Knight, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is currently the highest grossing film of 2009. With giant robots, huge explosions, awesome vehicles, a myriad of locations, a classic tale of good vs. bad, and plenty of Megan Fox fan service, this is the perfect summer blockbuster. We urge you to transform your life and check out Revenge Of The Fallen as soon as you can.

 A Mess

| | See all Pimboli's reviews (70)

First off I loved the first movie and was someone who couldt wait for the second one but this is just a mess. Its easily half an hour too long which is evident around the midway point when the movie grinds to a hault for some 'character moments'.

While the movie is action packed is all very samey explosions everywhere and robots beating each other up even though half the time you dont know whats happening is going so fast, also there is far too much lame humour which the transformer 'twins' being as annoying as Jar Jar Binks.

The Dark Knight showed you can make an intelligent action packed movie in the 12's category but this is too much.

The transfer is a very good 4.5/5 and the soundtrack 5/5 but be sure to not have it too loud our you'll have your neighbours in to you.

Hopefully they will spend a bit more time on the script next time out as much as the effects.

 Nice picture, terrible film

Seriously. I can't think of worse sequel than this piece of junk. I'm a MASSIVE fan of the first Transformers, and like (some of) Michael Bays other work. But it really AWFUL. Stupid characters, inane dialogue, a terrible script and lay directing add up to the most disappointing film I have seen in years. While the Bluray may look excellent, you just can't polish a turd. AVOID.

 Great disc, poor film!!

Transformers ROTF is a poor film to say the least, i enjoyed the first movie even though it does not stick to the original designs (Optimus Prime does not have a mouth) but it was fun, had the right amount of humour, action etc.
Transformers 2 cranks everything up, the action is superb and cannot be faltered, anyone complaining that there was to much action and not enough story should have known what type of movie this is especially coming from Michael Bay.
The acting is pretty average with Shia LaBeauf the stand out and the story if you can call it that being debatable, no the reason we watched this is for giant robots smashing each other and we are not left disappointed, the biggest let down is the vile crude toilet humour that is ever present through the whole film, none of which is remotely amusing.
American Pie with giant robots i think not.
The Twins Skids and Mudflap are two of the worst characters i have seen since Jar Jar Binks, yet more comedy relief that is not funny.
Now the Blu Ray of ROTF is simply fantastic on par with the Dark Knight and is a much better experience than seeing it even on an IMAX cinema, you can see more detail and i saw things during the forest battle i did not see first time around, the audio is superb but you might want to turn it down if the neighbours are in.
This movie is a sensory overload and just about essential on Blu Ray its just a pity the movie lets it down.

Please Do not go too much by bad reviews for this film, if you think you might like it then just watch it, its an amazing film and highly entertaining, full to the top with action and the best visual effects you will ever see. as fans we couldn't ask for it to be resurrected in a better way, huge budget, huge action scenes, good cast, amazing looking robots, one of the best directors in the world, it could have been a lot worse. this is an epic sci-fi film, people go on about the story being silly, its sci-fi about giant robots, of course its unbelievable and silly at times its meant to be, its not a serious film, how boring would that be, its pure fun, sit back and enjoy it like a rollercoaster. If you look a little deeper and have a bit more imagination than your average movie reviewer you will see just how good this film is and how much passion has gone into making it for fans and new comers alike, Revenge of the Fallen is a masterpiece and cinema history, from an iconic 80's TV show that was fading out in the public eye to a multimillion epic movie that now millions more people are now fans of. Also not forgetting Steve Jablonsky once again made an epic score to this film.

it hurts me to say this but i did not enjoy this movie!! i am a transformers fan for over 20 years loved the first movie thought it was a huge sucess to get transformers to the big screen! however... this was practically a rerun of the first movie with some other added transformers in it. the were so many sexual remarks in it it really got tiresome!! ok megan fox is amazing! ill let the bent over the bike go :)!! but i really didnt wanna see 2 dogs go at it infact shia just annoyed me throuout!! some really bad acting from people that didnt need to be there.plus how many times did we have to see up a girls skirt? im fine with it but the mother with her two children infront of me didnt really apriciate it! i couldnt blame her! the transformer battles were amazing but i felt a bit cheated as it really did drag in a little. this was clearly made for teenagers becasue of the constant eye candy! (im not really complaining just annoyed that the transformers were edged out by megan fox if i wanted to see picts of her i would have just googled her! also its not great when your with the other half as she shouts if you even look at her!!) just felt that it could have done better!
