From Platinum Dunes and director Marcus Nispel ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre") comes a re-imagining of the classic horror film "Friday the 13th." Searching for his missing sister, Clay heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins that lie in wait behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing hiding under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has, with the help of a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying spectres in American film history-the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

well ill admit i enjoyed the remake of texas, halloween, although nowhere near the originals on there own they are good films so i had high hopes for this but was left very let down didnt find it violet or bloody or scary and well what was the point i think the director was more interested in getting sex scenes in there rather than scares, and now we are left to wait for the freddy remake just dont think that will work some how.as for the blue ray itself wasnt that impressed by the picture i mean its not the worst bd out there but not one to show of your system sound yeah was good didnt watch any of the extras so cant comment on them,so verdict yeah it will appeal to some people and the studios will keep making them as long as they do well at the box office but all in all stick to the originals

 Pointless

This is lazy, cynical filmaking. The only person that wins here is Micheal Bay, you give him your cash and his CV stays consistently awful.

 Not so good..

This fllm had its moments but I found that it was simply not engaging enough to hold my attention from start to end, in fact I think that it was just too long or the story was not strong enogh for the duration. This is one to rent not buy. I cannot imagine wanting to watch it again.

The originals are better than this

Anything Michael Bay touches seems to be awful!! this re-make is abit of a mess!! it seems to speed through the story of Jason at the start! and then goes straight into a very average slasher film!! with a very annoying cast!!! I know alot of fans were expecting this film to focus more on Jason's childhood etc. show us his build up of rage towards young people! but NO!!! they just took Jason and stuck him in a film with some very lame pretty people!! and what is with him having a secret undergroung base?? and the scene where he finds his mask is stupid? it just randomly appears in a workshop?? they tried to add something different to friday the 13th but to be honest! they failed and just slapped together a film with no vision with the Jason tag attached! they should have done a straight re-make! this version seems confused with direction!! well done Michael Bay! what other re- makes do you wish to produce and butcher! check it out if you want but trust me, the originals are way more fun!

JASON is back, the remake was just what we needed to bring the friday the 13th franchise back to life, a brilliant movie with a few new twists on the original story combining elements of the first 3 original films together, lots of expected violence and naked teenage girls getting slaughtered. Marcus Nispel did a great job of directing it as he did the new chainsaw massacre remake too a few years back. great resurrection of an icon.
