Picture is in 1080i not p but is still watchable if not outstanding. The DVD was issued in 2.35:1 but the matte has been opened to 1.78:1 on this issue which improves the framing in my opinion, no longer cutting the tops of heads off and no detail has been lost from the sides. Single layer disc with VC1 encoding. Film4 should have tried harder with this superb film
Doesn't matter what format you buy this on,it's still an amazing film.Blu ray though?Can't wait to see Don Logan's nose in high def.
ray winstone, ian mcshane and ben kingsley are superbly cast and directed in this taught british crime thriller. this is a fantastic film and a must own-especially in high-def!
This film is an absolute blinder, story, dialague and performances from Winston, McShane and especially Kingsley are fantastic and pull you into the story.
Watch this film on blu ray, DVD or VHS it doesn't matter as the story is a good un.
This is a great film and I ha dit on DVD but decided to buy it again in Bluray. Ot is clear, perhaps too clear but we found it too jerky compared to the DVD format. Not sure whether the clarity exagerates movement or wether it is the previously mentioned changes (see reviews above) but for us it was much better as it was on DVD. Great film just the format seems wrong.
