This film is truly fantastic, full of emotion, action and just the right amount of romance. Beautiful film and a definate must see. The quality on BLU RAY is outstanding and the story line is epic and can be easily related to, due to the film being based on a true story, Daniel Craig at his best.

One for the war collection.
its a cross between world war two and kevin costners robinhood.
reason why it only had 4 stars is it was inaccurate to the true story.
but otherwise loved it
watched this on Bluray and the pictures were beautiful and the sounds on 5.1 were good when needed to be ( bombings and shooting)

 moving and entertaining

What an enjoyable film to watch , well acted and produced . It moved along and held your interest from start to finish . The transfer was of good quality for sound and vision , as like valkyrie it was based on a true story which made it more interesting. A very good blue-ray purchase

 Fantastic, inspirational and a one-off!

Based on a true story, and set in WW2, the film shows a different side to the war than that of other great war movies such as saving private ryan. Set during war, however could be said it is not a war movie, it has action, romance and adventure.
Brilliantly shot, emotive and solid acting from its cast, Daniel Craig is the best yet, his performance beating that of his Bond films. Jamie Bell (king kong) and Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins) are superb themselves.
Just over 2 hours long, but wish it was longer, at the end of the film we are also gives an insight into the lives of the protagonists after the war, making it more special and a great buy, Stunning in Blu-ray. A classic.

I'll start with the negative points
The explosions aren't very realistic, more 'Hollywood' style.
The physics are a little bit odd. (A tank managing a hit on the opposite side of a ditch without ploughing through the ground first?)

Other than that, Defiance is an excellent film. It is historically accurate with the right weaponry, clothing, acting and language.

It is visually mind-blowing, seeing the individual hairs on Craig's chin as he dodges bullets is an adrenaline rush.

The acting is brilliant, the combination clicks. There's no other way to put it!

Overall, a fantastic film so long as you're not a history buff looking for minor mistakes!

 Outstanding

Defiance is the kind of intelligent film that one thought the film industry had given up making. It's a true story, albeit with embellishments, and a fascinating one. The cast is uniformly excellent and there's not a false performance in the entire movie. But Daniel Craig is outstanding. Already established as the best Bond ever, Defiance proves yet again that he is now Britain's finest film actor.

Overall this was a good film with a good storyline made better because it is based on a true story. It is in the same genre as Schindlers List although not as graphic!! The only thing I find disappointing was that the film appeared a little disjointed at times especially with the russian element scenes.
The Blu-Ray picture is very good as is the sound.
