Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as The Terminator in this explosive action-adventure spectacle.

Skynet, the 21st century computer waging a losing war on humans, sends a second terminator back in time to destroy the leader of the human resistance while he is still a boy. His mother is the only one who knows of the existence of the Terminators, human-like robots that exist only to kill and are nearly indestructible. Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), the boy's mother, a woman haunted by nightmares of mankind's inevitable nuclear destiny, is currently in a state mental hospital because of her 'delusions'. A second protector, The T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), is sent back to the past by the Human resistance to protect John Connor, their future leader, at all costs.

The T-800 joins forces with Sarah, together, they must protect her son - the boy destined to lead the freedom fighters of the future - from the deadliest machine ever created, the liquid metal T-1000 (Robert Patrick).

Co-written, produced and directed by James Cameron (The Terminator, Aliens, Titanic), this visual tour de force is also a touching human story of survival.

 T2 Perfection

I'll quickly talk about the endoskeleton skull thing then get on to the review proper - It's about life size plastic affair that looks good the the bookcase as a show piece. It's got a button that makes the eyes light up and plays some sound effects and music from the movie. My only complaint is the depth of the disc tray that slots into the back of the base which makes it hard to take the disc out,
Okay, as for the T2 disc itself - all I can say is this is T2 heaven!!! The best HD transfer of the movie ever made (and ever to be made without re-shooting with modern digital cameras) the colour timing has been re-done making the day shots much warmer and the night shots finally have the cold metallic look they were always meant to have.
As for the fim itself, it's presented here in 3 forms - the original theatrical release, the 1993 director's cut and a hidden speical edition which can be accessed with the code 82997 which differs from the director's cut with 2 key scenes including an alternate ending which proves that all the newer Terminator movies are non-cannon and that creator James Cameron never wanted to continue the story beyond this point.
There are some good extras if you haven't already seen the "ultimate edition" DVD's 2nd disc and if you are enough of a fan boy like me to get this collector's edition it's well worth the money, if not just get the steel tin edition.

This is how a a collectors edition should be done!

I pre-ordered this a few months back when Play hadn't released to many details regarding the Endoskeleton head, thinking I was going to get a 6'' Model head and a blu-ray disc separate.

I received yesterday and was shocked to find a life size Terminator head with the disc storage in the base.

The quality of the head is fantastic, the amount of detail phenomenal, it even has a button the side which when press plays a sound clip from the film, and the eyes glow.

Only special edition case I can compare this to, for detail is the Alien Quadrillogy head from it's DVD release a few years back, (which I personally hope they will do again for the Blu-Ray release near Christmas), if your a collector looking for something extra special then it is well worth the asking price.

As for the Blu-Ray the 1080p print is flawless, the best i've seen to date, it's leaps & bounds above the quality of the previously released Blu-Ray version, it's the way this film should be seen by everyone.

The disc has a very impressive range of features, most in HD, and has all 3 versions of the film.

All in all this takes pride of place in my blu-ray collection

10/10

I pre-ordered this thinking that it was the 6 disc super edition I had seen in many different previews. I got this today (a couple of days early), only to find that it is not what I believed I had ordered. IT IS ONLY ONE DISC! I was never informed of this by Play. You basically get the same blu ray disc as the £17.99 version, but have to pay an extra £62 for a plastic skull. Yes, it looks good, but it feels cheap and certainly isn't worth the money. The product description on this site gives no indication that it is one disc only. I only gave it 2 stars because the film is so brilliant.

Nice packaging but disc won't play

Is anyone having any problems playing the disc .I have updated firmware etc(download on cd-r not internet) but the disc will not move any further than the optimum logo then the screen just stays black! If anyone has any ideas i would be eternally grateful. Also £79.99 is a lot of money for 1 DISC.
