I got this at the same time as final destination, and for me at least, the red/green system used in this is much better. with the cyan magenta, i kept losing it, had to strain to keep seeing it sometimes and ended up going cross eyed more than once, but for this, i just comfortably fell into the 3d, and stayed there throughout.
If you love a really good horror flick then this one certainly hits the spot, probably one of the best remakes ever! all the key elements of a good popcorn horror are there, tons of blood, and gore, and naked scenes! the story is pretty straight forward but is a bit more original than most slasher films as its mainly set down a mine and the killer goes around in a gas mask with a pickaxe! the deaths are well done and there is alot of them, and most of them are gleefully painfull. this film is well worth getting!
I went to the cinema to see this film in realD and it was brilliant! When i brought the film on blu ray i was really dissapointed with the 3D quality, the colour was poor and there was so much ghosting it made some scenes fuzzy and unwatchable. ( Journey to the centre of the earth in 3D was a better quality than this ) I ended up sending my blu ray version back and buying it again on normal dvd, the 3D quality was still poor but slightly better than blu ray! I think i'll stick to the 2D version.
The problem with 3-d on dvd is that is relatively young...as a result it will not look that good! It will always look better in cinema as they use a multi spectrum projector, which uses every colour imaginable. Dvd 3d doesnt, it uses either red/green or red/blue in the case of this film it is red/green. Now although it is an ok film, the fact that the 3d isnt brilliant means i for one will not be watching it in 3d anymore, and will stick to the 2d version.
