Just when you think Tommy Lee Jones has kinda gone off the boil
He comes back with No Country For Old Men, In The Valley of Elah and this cracking movie that he also directed.
Three Burials is a Gripping movie about Friendship, Loyalty, Love, Revenge, Honour and Lonliness
I was hooked from start to finish.
Brilliantly acted by Tommy Lee Jones, Julio Cedillio and Barry Pepper.
And the Direction by Tommy Lee Jones is excellent, im very surprised it was overlooked at the Awards.
You can tell it was a real labour of love for him and he really lets each and every actor leave their mark.
Excellent little movie that most people don't even know exists.

The video is in 1080i! Such a shame because the movie itself is fantastic. Hopefully Optimum will correct their mistake in the near future and we'll get a proper 1080p release of this modern classic.

  Western Tale to Savour

Three Burials is a modern western tale of revenge, retribution and redemption. It brims with new ideas and an off centre view of the world as Tommy Lee`s harsh, hard bitten, relentless avenger, tracks down the murderer of his best friend. jones`s face looks like a well worn rocky outcrop from monument valley. His measured direction allows the story and it`s characters to unfold and breath, giving a deep emotional depth to the movie. Unfortunately, the transfer is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and does`nt do justice to such a complex, downbeat marvel of a film. Even so, it`s well worth buying.
