Underworld (2003): Vampires and lycans, an ancient form of werewolf, are at war. While the vampires inhabit a gigantic castle that houses their ancestor's tombs, the lycans live underground in a dilapidated sewer cave. Both teams are equipped with big guns, and they are constantly innovating deadlier bullets to gain advantage over each other. On the vampire side, the leather-clad death agent Selene (Kate Beckinsale) delegates teams of vamps to attack the lycans. But when she discovers that the lycans have kidnapped a human medical student, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), she knows the worst is on its way. Against the orders of her superior, Kraven (Shane Brolly), who is obsessively in love with Selene, she awakens the most powerful vampire of all time, Viktor (Bill Nighy) and prepares for a massive feud against lycan leader Lucian (Michael Sheen)...

Underworld Evolution (2005): Bloodthirsty vengeance is measured out in buckets, not spoonfuls for this hard-hitting vampire movie sequel. The story picks up right where the first Underworld left off, in the midst of a war between Lycans (werewolves) and vampires, with the gorgeous death-dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale), on the run with her vamp-wolf hybrid lover, Michael (Scott Speedman).

Being the cause of Viktor's death, Selene can only hope to plea to the last remaining elder, Marcus. However, Marcus has already awakened and has become a more powerful creature than before. Now his only remaining goal is to awaken his Lycan brother William from his eternal imprisonment. With time running out, Selene and Michael must piece together the final clues to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines and stop Marcus before it's too late...

Underworld 3 - Rise Of The Lycans (2009): A prequel to the last two Underworld movies, this installment traces the beginnings of the blood-feud between the dominant Death Dealers and their former slaves, the Lycans. Led by the forceful Lucian, the Lycan uprising begins to take shape in order to escape the shackles of the evil Viktor, the vampire king who rules them.

 Great trilogy but nasty packaging

This is a good price for the three films, but please be warned about the boxset itself. I was expecting a sturdy box with Viktor on the front and maybe some nice inlay material but I was sadly mistaken. All you get is a cheap bit of card with the most awful blurred JPEG image of Kate Beckinsale. They may have just wrapped the films in cellophane and hand drawn a picture with biro! I threw it in the bin immediately and put the three seperate disks on my shelf.

Well apart from writing a 1000 word review that has not appeared yet. The film editions you get are the special extended editions.

Hope this helps

This is one awesome trilogy of films! Very action packed stories full of brilliant effects and cool werewolf vs vampire bloody battles! Kate Beckinsale is wonderfull and plays her role perfectly. These are essential blu-ray purchases especially as your getting all three films at such a price, plus the picture quality is outstanding compared to the DVD versions, I cant understand why anyone would think otherwise unless you had your player set up wrong!! This box-set will make the perfect night in.

 Bad picture

Just received the boxset and checked each dvd. At first I thought it was my blu-ray player but having checked another blu-ray, it most definately isn't! The picture quality on the BD's is worse then a standard DVD. Picture extremely grainy. Expected a lot more...will be sending these straight back! :-(

 Brilliant Quality

A lot of people are saying the bluray quality is ok compared to the dvd version. I do not agree. I think Bluray version is excellent - bcose it is a dark film you can really see the differences in black. For example when Kate Bekinsale is sittin on a tower at the start you can see the black coat, black hair, black background and at the same time the rain drops are so clear - the dvd version does not have the same. However i have a Samsung 3000-1 ratio HDTV, nowawadays the standard is 50,000-1 - so if you have that it will be even more clear. The sound is excellent, i dont have a home cinema system- but if you do - get the popcorn out and dim the lights!. In terms of the films i love the story in all three films, my personal favourite is the second film becuase it carries on from the first and you get to find out more information than you did in the first. Bill Nighly as Victor - now that is class acting!!!
For 14.99 on bluray (5.00 a film) - this is brillaint - theres loads of extras in the films -
I hope this helps make your decision
